Think Pink Glimmer & New WOW! Video Tutorial

Pink Pirouette Glimmer Paper?  If you have Stampin' Up! Silver Glimmer Paper and Classic Ink on hand, you can create your own custom colored glimmer paper.  Today's 1 Minute to WOW! Video Tutorial shows you how to perform the "magic!"

STAMPIN' PRETTY TIPS:

  • Stampin up demonstrator blog video tutorial silver glimmer paperI experimented with different methods to apply the ink to the Silver Glimmer Paper and preferred using a dauber and a drop or two of reinker.  Different colors may have different results.  Please let me know with a comment below if you have tried this method and your experience with other colors.
  • IMPORTANT!  The ink doesn't dry very quickly with this technique (seriously, it was still wet after a couple hours).  Use a Heat Tool to set the color pronto.
  • I used my Stampin' Up! Simply Scored Scoring Tool to add a little embossing to the horizontal panel (on the Soft Suede portion).
  • My trusy Simply Scored Tool also helped me whip up the custom envelope for this 5" x 3 1/2" card (Beau Chateau Designer Series Paper).  I cut a 8" x 6 1/4" rectangle and scored the long direction 1/2"  in from each side (or 1/2" and 5 3/4").  Next, I flipped it 90 degrees and scored at 1 3/4" and 5 1/2".  Watch My Easiest Envelope Ever Video Tutorial for the simple finishing details.

  1. Mary once again you have totally inspired me! Thank you so much for that technique – now I will stop drooling over the glimmer paper and get it out of the packet! I love your 1 minute to wow videos – they really pack a punch and are just the perfect length for time-strapped crafter with a limited attention span like me! Your blog is one of the few I follow religiously. Thanks Mary!

  2. Clever idea, Mary, thank you so much for sharing!! What a pretty card – love the sweet little hearts dancing across the middle of the card. I just ordered my Silver Glimmer paper and look forward to trying out this technique.

  3. Gorgeous Mary! Thanks for the video and the tips! It looks very doable and it just added a wonderful punch of color to the card. The card itself is pretty cool. I thought the DP was just a piece of paper showing the colors and then I see it is the envelope! You continue to amaze me with your talents! I am going to be working on a card for a Jewish friend – maybe I will try some blue on the silver. I love the look of the “tarnished” one too using the black. Thanks for the inspiration Mary.

  4. Beautiful results! I created a card earlier in November using Daffodil Delight Stampin’Write Markers to create a beautiful twinkling star. The marker worked great!

  9. Brilliant…I love learning ways to expand on supplies already on hand…I’ve learned about buying white pearls, paper flowers, etc. and coloring them with my inks, but I never would have thought to do the same thing with glimmer paper…..thank you for a wonderful tip.

  12. Love the card! My trick with the colored glimmer paper is to coat it with clear embossing powder and heat — otherwise it seems to never dry, and will rub off on fingers!
