NEW VIDEO TUTORIAL!  I recently had a blog reader ask me about creating an open-end envelope using Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper and the new Simply Scored Scoring Tool.  I disassembled a Whisper White Stampin’ Up! Small Open-End Envelope (6 3/4″ x 3 1/2″) and determined the dimensions and scores.  Today’s Stampin’ Pretty Video Tutorial shares the simple process of turning your open-end envelopes into WOW!

  • I kept this get well card very simple, including the heat embossing of the floral stems in white.
  • An Embossing Buddy helps reduce static and keeps bits of embossing powder from migrating where you don’t want them.
  • The Open End Envelope will accommodate up to a 6 5/8″ x 3 3/8″ card.  Less if you have ribbon or other embellishments that require more interior room.
  • Creating your own envelopes gives you a great reason to share more pretty patterns and color.  The Stampin’ Up! Berry Blossoms Designer Series Paperis a fresh, coordinated look to receive in the mail!

  1. My husband works for the post office, and said any patterned paper would be difficult because the bar code is a light yellow. But, he said just increase your dimensions and make an outer white envelope and double enclose it. Then it will be like a present inside!

Thanks for your help with my order this week!

  4. I was going to ask if you actually stamped your bandaid? This is a great tutorial, thanks so much…I’d love to see how to line an envelope with patterned paper. I always manage to have it too tight.

  7. Here’s an important tip from a fellow stamper who works for the post office. It’s risky to use dark or brightly colored floral envelopes (like I did today) because it’s difficult for workers at the post office to see the bar codes they use. Cards can be delayed or discarded. Makes sense. I’m going to stick with lighter patterns and colors in the future! Hugs, M

  8. My bandage color is just a coincidence. It’s a slowly healing “boo boo” from my hiking trip at Mt. Zion Park. Trust me. The bandage is much more attractive at this point than the injury and I didn’t want to stop doing videos.

  10. Mary, this is so cool. I love your blog and love your videos. Using the scoring board makes envelopes a breeze. By the way, is it me, or do I notice than when you do a video, your band-aid color matches your card in the video? Very spiffy! 🙂
