PPA 110 & Simply Scored Envelope Video Tutorial

Stampin up halloween card blog frightful sight idea square punch

Simple and spooky describe today's project.  It was both fun to make and required minimal Stampin' Up! supplies.  I also whipped up a new video tutorial sharing in more detail the Stampin' Up! Simply Scored Scoring Tool (122334) and how to create a coordinating designer envelope for a standard  4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card.

ENVELOPE FOR A2 (4 1/4" X 5 1/2") CARD

  • Cut Designer Series Paper to 7 1/4" x 10 1/4"
  • Using the Simply Scored Scoring Tool, score the long direction at 3/4" and 6 1/2'.
  • Flip 90 degrees and score at 2 1/4" and 6 3/4"
  • Use Paper Snips to remove four corners (see video) and create tabs.
  • Adhere.

STAMPIN' PRETTY TIP:   Check out this previous video on creating an envelope using the same technique for a 4 x 4 card.  Gotta love the amazing tandem of the Simply Scored Scoring Tool and Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper.

 STAMPIN' PRETTY CARD TIPS:

  • I created a little template for lining up the windows using the 1 1/4" Square Punch.
  • I adhered it to Whisper White card stock using Dotto Repositionable Adhesive, lined up and recropped with the 1 1/4" Square Punch.
  • The Clear Mount Version of Spooky Bingo Bits made it easy to "eyeball" and stamp through the windows.

  18. Thanks for your feedback on the trio of “windows”. I’ll try and whip a 1 minute to WOW video on this in the near future.

    Hugs, M

  19. Mornin’ Mary,
Ditto on everyone’s comments about the card and envelopes. My take away is about the multi-purpose glue!! I’ve never used it before because I can’t stand messy, drippy glue – but the large applicator looks like just the thing to solve that problem! Thanks for that tip!! [ooh… just caught the pun… giggle]

    Hi Mary,
Just watched your video on how to make a standard envelope. This is a great help. Also love the Halloween card. The scoring tool is going to be a must have. I have been debating on getting the Halloween paper and I just love it. Have some from the years past but this one is so useful for other projects.

Mary, I love BOTH envelope videos! I am almost always disappointed when your short videos end, so I really liked the longer video and perfect introduction to the new scoring tool! Thanks so much!

  25. Mary, Great cards and I love the windows! I know people tell you all the time what a great demo you are, but it is so true! You are amazing! I learn so very much from you! Thank you for your envelope tutorial and for all your talent and inspiration!

  29. WELL! I know what I’ll be doing with a bunch of my retired DSP that didn’t get used! Whoo Hoo! I’m so glad I waited for SU! to come out with their own scoring table …. 🙂

  30. Thanks for this amazing video Mary and also for showing us how SIMPLY REAL you are! Love your card and matching envelope.

  31. What a wonderful video and your card and envelope are beautiful. I love matching envelopes or at the very least lined envelopes. I think it adds a lot of “class” to the card. Thank you for a wonderful tutorial.

  32. What a SUPER card! I was wondering how you got those windows perfectly straight, thanks for the GREAT video and your card tips – very informative!

  33. Super, Super Cute Card! Can’t wait to watch the video for making the envelopes!
Now, I am really not very imaginative, maybe I could hash out something if I could sit long enough to work on it, but I would love to be able to make my own “small open-end envelopes” for the 3×6 cards! Do you have any ideas on this?????
Thanks for sharing all that you do with us!
    Mary

  34. What a classy card layout! Love the “windows” – can’t wait to try this with the Jolly Bingo Bits!
