Stampin’ Up! Clear-Mount Cling Foam Video Tutorial

PLEASE BE CAREFUL.  I used the Walnut Hollow Hot Knife to trim my clear-mount cling foam.  It’s really, really hot and shouldn’t be used around the kiddos.  The Stampin’ Up! Circle Scissor Plus Glass Mat (112531) protected my work surface below.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  You can use (and Stampin’ Up! recommends) using their Craft & Rubber Scissors (103179) for trimming the foam adhesive around the stamps.  I used the Walnut Hollow Hot Knife for quick, precise and less sticky results.  Stampin’ Up! will not be liable for damage to customer stamps if the hot knife method is used.

  1. Brilliant Mary! I cannot thank you enough for putting this out there. I have tried to mount other stamps – even just a simple square-cut – and the “super-stickiness” is almost insane when trying to handle – everything sticks to it before, during and after (the sides stay sticky and it gets on your fingers, scraps adhear to it, etc.). And I found the adhesive kept sticking to the rubber part of the stamp as well. What a mess! And I like my stamps cut like you do so I am going out today to purchase a Hot Knife and see what great things I can accomplish with it. Again, thank you for what looks like a “problem well-solved!” :0)

  2. Thanks Mary for the video on converting the wood stamps to cling stamps. I have been wanting to do this & now I am inspired to get into my craft room later today & get it done. Thanks again

  4. Which hot knife did you use from Walnut Hollow? They make a professional one 950 degrees with 2 different tips, and then a craft type one, with many different tips? It would help to know exactly which one you used.

    Thanks.
