NEW Stampin’ Up! Embossing Powder Colors!

Stampin up summer mini catalog card ideas flower fest punch The thrill is still alive and well.  Learning how to heat emboss on one of my very first handmade cards and watching the shine and dimension emerge was one of the early "hooks" in my rubber stamp experience. Great news!  When the Summer Mini Catalog debuts on May 1, Stampin' Up! will offer Stampin' Emboss Powders in Tangerine Tango, Wild Wasabi and Melon Mambo.  They are bold and beautiful and the highlight of today's Simple Saturday card.  Let's hope there are more colors to come!

I relied on this Splitcoaststampers sketch challenge (SC329) to get started!  I "cheated" a smidge by incorporating the third rose 🙂

STAMPIN' PRETTY TIPS:

  • Stampin up pretty flower fest color embossing powders SNEAK PEEK ALERT!  Not only am I tempting you with the Melon Mambo and Wild Wasabi Stampin' Emboss Powders, feast your eyes on two new stamp sets:  Flower Fest and Happy Greetings.  All these items will be available to customers on May 1.
  • Many of the Flower Fest rubber stamps (I'm a fan of the clear-mount version) coordinate with Stampin' Up! Punches.  The set immediately hopped on my "must have" list.  The "rose" was cropped with the 1 3/8" Circle Punch.
  • Hello!!!  Popping up one of the "hellos"  from Happy Greetings gives the sentiment a fun, colorful lift.
  • I shortened the front right side of my card by about 1/2" and added a Melon Mambo scalloped border.  This produces a whole new look and finish.

  1. I’m so with you…In the beginning (21 yrs ago) embossing is what drew me to Stampin’ Up at the very first home workshop I attended. Even my little boy loved the whole embossing “magic” and would carefully help me hold the heat gun and wait for the beautiful image to appear!!! I can’t wait to try the new bright colors in the Summer Mini!

  2. What great color! I hope they decide to add more colors, but they started out with three great ones. These are just perfect for Spring & Summer cards! Thanks again for a great demonstration, Mary!

  4. What fun bright colors! I, too, was interested in seeing how the new embossing colors looked. Maybe I need to step out of my comfort zone of black and brown embossing colors. Oh wait, I have some metallic ones too I forgot in my stash. Have a great weekend with your family.

  8. I am wondering: do you have to use Craft Ink with the embossing powder or, will the Classic ink suffice? I didn’t see in your posting which you used.Thanks.

  10. I was so glad to see new embossing colors in this mini! I still have my old colors. We had them in all four color families and use them sometimes. It would be so great if SU offered them in all four of our collections now…wouldn’t it?

Mary love today’s card although bright is really out of my comfort box but I am sure I will grow to love them!!!
