  1. ALL my cards need flowers and ribbon. I really try to make some cards without those elements,(especially for male cards), but they don’t look complete. Flowers and ribbon are a must for me! 🙂

  7. I love the Accents and Elements Fleurettes. They remind me of my Nana who crocheted many treasures for our family. She shared her talent with me and my sister….she taught us how to crochet…a lifelong gift. Love your site and all of your beautiful cards and all of your talents that you share with us!!!

  59. My favorite embellishment is buttons. Love how they give a ‘pop’ to cards. Little kids love them on their cards. Used them on 70 cards made for the men at Durham Rescue Mission. Always adhere with mini glue dots. Love the ones that came out for Sale-a-bration this spring , too!

  141. I guess as so many of your other followers, I’d have to say ribbon since it is one of the “add-on’s” I use on almost all of my cards and projects. It just is that “finishing touch” in most instances. Although I do love the pearls and rhinestones quite a bit.

  154. I like to use jewels on my cards. It’s all I need to feel the card is complete, and it is small and sutle, but perfect whether you use 1, 2 or 3. Next is ribbon and then brads.

  171. I think these days The Glimmer Brads have my vote! I do a lot with Flowers and Butterflys, and I get pretty excited by that extra punch to my designs with the gorgeous sparkle that matches my paper colors! SU rocks the industry with coordinating products!

  182. I don’t know why, but eyelets have always been my favorite embellishment. I once made a card with 21 eyelets on it! I think it’s the way they squish a little when you set them with a hole punch. I love the way you often add a row of 2 or 3 eyelets to your cards, Mary. So pretty!   192. Any embellishment is fun to add but I’d have to say that ribbon is my favorite. It’s the final thing that pulls everything together! A patterned ribbon let’s you play with putting crazy colors together, a solid satin or sheer can add instant elegance. SO many options to give your card that finished ‘pop’!

  201. My favorite embellishment to date is the Perfect Pearls. I don’t care what the theme of any card I’m making is, I find a place to use them. Even my Halloween cards had them as eyes on the little ghosts. Absolutely wonderful and the best part – they actually stick and don’t fall off.

  224. When I am going for an elegant finish, pearls are best. They are also better for a card that will be mailed through USPS. If I want the card to be warm and friendly, I like to use ribbon as a bow (if hand delivered) or flat trim (if mailed).

  272. Pearls for sure. I think pretty much every card I design these days has at least 1 pearl. Seam binding or Tafetta ribbon is probably next on the list. I love the Hodgepodge Hardware too but I tend to forget I have a box since it ends up at the back of the shelf. So sad. I better go move it now! Oh and I love the new Windowpanes but am still figuring out how to use them.

    Hm…does shimmer paint and homemade shimmer spray count as an embellishment? Love that too.

I was thrilled to see our half-back adhesive Rhinestone and Pearl jewels this year – I can hardly make a card without them:) I find it easiest to use my paper piercing tool to get them off of their paper backing (and if I want to cut the “strips” of jewels, I just use my hobby blade to cut them apart first!)

  281. My favorite card embellishment is ribbon, especially the Stampin’ Up! satin and taffeta ribbons. I love how they look on a finished card. Thank you for the blog candy opportunity!

  282. My favorite embellishment is ….. glitter — I’m known as the glitter queen around my stamp friends –Ha!! I like to use it to highlight, outline, and fill in certain images — I love the transparent glitters, rather than the opaque ones. Well, there you have it. Hope mine gets picked. I stumbled onto your blog and just absolutely LOVE it. Hugs, Syl xxxooo

  283. My absolute favorite embellishment is RIBBON!!! I find it difficult to make a card without using it, and I can vary the “type” of ribbon based on the true feeling of the card.
