Simple Saturday Rick Rack “WOW!” Video

Stampin up rick rack video tutorial cupcake
Keep it simple.  A sketch makes an excellent starting place for a card.  It definitely cuts time off the learning curve for busy stampers.  The sketch I used for today's card is from Splitcoaststampers (SC318).

Yes, it's still available!  The Tasteful Trim Bigz XL Die used for the rick rack can be ordered along with other favorites from the Holiday Mini Catalog Carryover List.  Click for Holiday Mini Carryover List.

Don't have the Big Shot or the Tasteful Trim Die?  As an alternative, the Stampin' Up! Scallop Edge Border Punch can multi-task as your rick rack making "machine."    Today's 1 Minute to "WOW!" Video Tutorial shows you how.   Oops:  I called the punch the Scallop Trim Border Punch in the video when it should be the Scallop Edge Border Punch.  I think it's an "age thing."

STAMPIN' PRETTY TIPS:

  • SDC15935-1 The Create a Cupcake stamp set meets the Build a Cupcake Punch.  True love!
  • Two Mini Glue Dots anchor the sentiment with a little wave worked in.
  • Inspiration for the color trio of So Saffron, Riding Hood Red and Baja Breeze is from my Stampin' Up! Color Coach.  Watch my Color Coach Video Tutorial to learn more about this nifty, time saver.

  1. Thanks Mary. I know what you mean. Once you start calling it one thing, that’s it. (And yes, lots of points for consistency.) Keep up the great inspiration. I just love it.

  4. Love it, Mary!!! I’m so giving this a try ASAP! I am stuck inside due to the weather today (yep, it’s snowing AGAIN!) so I’m planning to create the day away. Thanks for sharing this tutorial. I love your card – so very CAS and the colors are so bright and cheery.

  7. Hi Annette . . . as they say on Seinfeld, “it’s not you it’s me!” The punch SHOULD be called the Scallop Edge Border Punch. Sometimes I get the name of a product in my head the wrong way–but you have to give me points for consistency. I called it the wrong thing multiple times. LOL. Thanks for the catch. I updated my text!

PS I thought this was the Scallop Edge Border Punch. Have I mixed them up?
