A vintage look doesn't necessarily mean loads of layers. I used Old Olive for stamping, spritzing and sponging to arrive at my version above. This week's Pals Paper Arts Challenge (PPA80) is all about dreaming up a vintage inspired card (or 3-D). Check out the Design Team's vintage collection PLUS there's a blog candy giveaway this week for participants.
NEW VIDEO! I originally saw this sweet and simple flower at the Stampin' Up! Leadership Conference last month. Using the Fun Flower Bigz L Die (Occasions Mini Catalog) and the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine, it blooms before your eyes.
Todays' WOW video exceeds a minute (my bad) but will show you how delightful it is to have the Fun Flowers die in your cardmaking toolbox.
Thank you to those readers who offered suggestions for my video tutorials . . . I appreciate your honesty and incorporated much of your feedback into today's tutorial (but it's always a work in progress).
STAMPIN' PRETTY TIPS:
- The Clearly For You stamp set seems custom made for a card like this. Lots of marvelous elements that blend together.
- A sweet Trinket Key adds to the vintage feel. Charming 🙂
- I sponged Old Olive Ink on the edge of everything except the card base and sentiment (but only because I didn't think of it at the time–hee hee).
- Grab your Crop-A-Dile to silently set the Metallic Eyelet. I love the finished look an eyelet adds to the sentiment.

Hi Mary,
Very nice video quality and effects. Love the card. May I use it for my March stamp camp? I think it’s perfect for a “green” month.

Wouldn’t kids love this aging technique! Thanks, Mary. Love the card, too!
Mary, Your card is beautiful-you always have such creative ideas that I do not see anywhere else.
I go to your site almost every day but I don’t leave comments-so here’s my first: This video is much nicer than the other one you asked for comments on. I’m really glad the “labels” superimposed over the video are gone!! Thay were distracting to what you were actually doing. Love your site. You do a fabulous job!! The flowers are great!!
Awesome yet again!! Thanks for your inspiration!
Love the monochromatic feel of this card. And the tiling is wonderful!
Cute video Mary! You got my attention when you said “difficult”….I looked up quick to see you crush your flower….too funny! What a fabulous job you do!
PERFECTION! My flower die is coming out of its wrapper, TODAY! Thanks for the inspiration, Mary!
I love all the green! Beautiful card, Mary!
Beautiful card Mary – I simply love the colors and the flower!
This is beautiful all done in green! Awesome video on making the flowers too!
Beautiful card and what a great video. I love this monochromatic look … One thing I am always amazed by is that you use Very Vanilla (or naturals) vs. Whisper White.
I have to try that!
I think Clearly for You is on my next order. 🙂
Stunning card Mary!
Another wonderful video…..you rock. Love this technique. I wasn’t interested in this Big Shot die until now. I just didn’t see the potential it brought until watching your video. You always present such a wonderful presentation. Hugs, Becky

Good morning, Mary: I love this card, it’s so beautiful. This just goes to show you that Valentine cards don’t always have to be red.
Thank you for the tutorial. I ment to comment on the other one but I had to go next door to get my grandkids off to school. I’m glad you made those changes, the words in front of your hands were a little distracting.
Three words about the weather up here…….2 below zero.
Maria.
I love the whole card, from the color to the layout to the flower. Yesterday when I saw your sneak I thought you made the flower from the Modern Label punch!!!
Mary, your card is gorgeous!!! I love that you made it in green. Love that flower and center goodies. Hugs,
