My card today focuses on Sale-A-Bration's Sweet Summer stamp set.  This adorable set is FREE with a $50 product order!  I used VersaMark to create a simple background . . . something I often overlook as an option–a true stamping essential.  Here's a 1 Minute to "WOW!" Video Tutorial to share a few simple VersaMark tips.

TELL ME:  I tried a new format for today's video.  What do you think?  Too "Broadway?"  I'm definitely still experimenting but hope I can bump up the look of my videos!

  1. Hi

Love the card. Simple, clean and fresh.

I love the video but I’m not crazy about the new title bars. Better I think to scroll across the bottom so that the field of vision is not interrupted.

    Kind regards,

  2. Great card and video, but the sound is so quiet, I had to play it a couple of times to catch everything you said.

  3. Yup…I agree!! LOVE your tutorials!
I like the new format, but it is distracting (blocks the view)…at the end would be really cool! Thanks for sharing your amazing talent…makes me better every day!!

  4. I agree that the info bars floating in and out from the bottom giving the product details without distracting from the technique instruction is an option. Too Broadway? Not at all. I thought perhaps Frank Sinatra singing New York, New York was going to be your music ;o)! As always, very nice work, thank you.

  5. Very cute card! Your quick videos are very effective but I agree that the product numbers sliding in and out is distracting. Sounds like you have already made a new plan! My SAB order just arrived a short time ago – the weather really slowed it down. Better go unpack it 🙂

  6. Love the ribbon effect on this card! As always, I thoroughly enjoyed your video. Along with the others, I agree that the scrolling bar coming from the top to the bottom covers up what you are doing for a second. All in all, another great video!

  7. I always watch your videos including the VersaMark one today. However it was very difficult to hear you talking even with your volume button and my computer volume turned way up.

  8. I honestly did not watch your video yet… because I instantly just love your card… and LOVE your use of ribbon. What a way to get so much more use out of our ribbon. Love the card. Love the colors. Love the bling!!

  9. Mary, I too watch your Wow videos and love them. They are always so informational! I also must put my volume on high to hear it and I don’t care for music in the background as it is too distracting! I really appreciate all the wonder tips you share with us! Thanks!

  10. I love your new format, but the sound is a little too low. Thanks for the videos you share each week. You always have great ideas. I think this is the prettiest card I’ve seen you make.

  11. Hi Mary, great job on your new format for video taping. I love having all the info but I found it distracting and would agree with some of your the other comments to have it placed or appear somewhere else. I’m also not a fan of music on any videos (& I do love music just not on informational videos), but that’s just my personal opinion I’m sure others like it.
    Are you sorry you asked?
BTW…love your card it’s precious, the colors, the tiny bird, the versamark background and the bling, charming.

  12. Hi Mary,
Love your card. I am very fond of the versamark. The ribbon tag is so perfect. Love your use of the Sweet Summer stamps! I agree with the video comments. Love the music at the end!

  13. Mary, this is simply stunning, as always! Love the pop of pink and the jewels. I really enjoy your tutorials, too and always learn something new. (There is a refill for the Versa-Mark pad?? How did I not know that?) I really like the music at the end and all of the angled shots of the card. I also like the idea you just shared about adding the complete supply list at the end. It’s a great way to recap doesn’t distract from the awesome techniques as you are sharing them! Can’t wait to see the next one! Have a great day! 🙂

  14. Hi Stampin’ Pretty Readers:

Thank you, thank you for all your suggestions. I wanted your honest advice and appreciate that you felt comfortable giving it. It helps me decide what to do next . . . and, frankly, it was a lot more work this way (mostly the learning curve). If simplifying is what you want, I’m thrilled!

The format I used for the title, captions and credits is a structured theme . . . not really an option to modify how the CNN captions (LOL) scroll.

Since the videos are so short, I think I will put all tips and supplies at the end (a more complete list of the items used in the video) so there isn’t any issue of blocking or distractions. Good?

I’m not sure how much I can do to help the volume but I’ll experiment and try to speak up. I’m on the fence regarding the music . . . maybe I’ll just try “rolling” with it at the end with the tips and supplies.

I’m getting another video ready for Thursday. Watch for the changes!

    Hugs, M

  15. Hi Mary, I’m a regular reader, but very rarely leave a comment. I have to tell you that I loved the new video and the music at the end with all of the photos of the creation that was featured. The scroll down information doesn’t really bother me, but I have to agree that I would definitely try to make your voice a little louder or adjust the sound on the video equipment. I too have to have all of the volumes turned all the way up to hear your fabulous advice. Thanks for all you do, you rock!!! Many Blessings-Tana Conley http://tanaconley.blogspot.com

  16. Wonderful new format, Mary! I loved the music, too, and the card is gorgeous, as always. :o) My only suggestion would be to have the bars of information (e.g. name of stamp set and item number) up across the top of the screen where there wasn’t anything to block. Your work is so beautiful, and I love to watch every detail; so, it’d be nice not to have anything covering it up. Blessings to you~

  17. Love this card and those colors. Love the ribbon tab. Personally I find most video’s hard to hear with the video volume all the way up and my computers all the way up. Don’t know if you can fix that for me. *smile*

  18. It did seem a little over-produced to me. And yes the product numbers were a little distracting but if I was viewing the video somewhere besides your blog, it beats having to thumb through the catalog to find that number.

  19. Loved your card. I agree with the rest. It looked like CNN and all those news shows..you can’t see the whole area when trying to follow something. I like all the information to be in one place so I can go through them and relate them to the card you are making. Thanks for all you do. Love your videos.

  20. Great card Mary. I agree the swooping scrolls were distracting. I found myself following them instead of what you were saying and doing.

  21. Ditto! I must say this card is so refreshing! I like the new video format but must agree that horizontal bar with product information got in my way. The best part is the ending of the video enjoying your project load in all those different angles, music was perfect! Not a surprise here Mary very nice job!

  22. Gread video, as always Mary! Thank you! Beautiful card too!! I really like the new video format. It’s fast paced with soothing colors. Only one thing I would suggest…that’s the scroll down windows during the video. They’re really distracting when you’re trying to pay attention to the technique. They’re cool looking but how about having them slide in from the left instead? That way, they’re there if we need them but we can still concentrate on the video. Over all, great video. Thank you for all your hard work and sharing everything you know. I really appreciate it all!!
