Mojo Monday 178

Stampin up word play mojo monday
My nephew has been teaching in Chicago for several years and recently made a life altering decision to join the Peace Corps.  He flew to his assignment last week in Lusaka, Zambia, Africa.  No phone, no computer, no iPod.  Just a bike, a post office box (fingers crossed this card makes it) and a desire to make a difference.  I'm so proud.

This week's Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge (MOJO178) offered excellent "direction" on how to lay out my card!

STAMPIN' PRETTY TIPS:

  • Stampin up word play mojo monday 3 My Paper Snips made it easy to clip out the arrows and pop them up on Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • Offsetting the two large circles gives the card a modern finish.
  • Make your brads line up at attention.  Watch my 1 Minute to "WOW" Video for a quick demonstration.
  • The Stampin' Up! Color Coach was my inspiration for determining the Basic Gray, More Mustard and Riding Hood Red combination.

  2. I prefer clean & simple…Layers & lace are nice & pretty but can be “over done”! Clean & simple gets to the point without all the extra “baggage”. Really enjoy your site.

I lived in Lusaka, Zambia for 3 years in the 70’s and loved it. My father worked for CIDA (Canadian equivalent of USAID. We went to the International School and spent our afternoons horse riding. I still have a friend that I correspond with from my days in Lusaka.
What wonderful memories………….and my first love!

  13. Very nice card, Mary! A former student of mine was in the Peace Corps and in Zambia! My first graders wrote to her as a pen pal. I still put up the pictures of her in her village when we do our unit on Africa. Your nephew’s two years there will change his life forever.
