Mojo Monday Poppy Parade Blossom

Stampin up blog mojo monday build a blossom
I saw a gorgeous rug recently (wish I had taken a photo so I could share it with you).  It was black with splashes of bright red flowers and olive green leaves and vines.  Today's Mojo Monday sketch design  (MOJO175) translates that rug into my beloved rubber stamping craft!  Inspiration is truly everywhere.

Blossoms petal punch stampin pretty stampin up The bold flower was created with the new Build a Blossom stamp set and coordinating Blossom Petals Punch (Stampin' Up! Occasions Mini Catalog–see my Occasions Mini favorites).  It was begging for a spot on this week's Mojo Monday Sketch.

 STAMPIN' PRETTY TIPS:

  • SDC15847-1 Don't shelve your Wicked Fun Specialty Designer Series Paper (and other "holiday" designer paper, for that matter).  If you look a little closer, many of the patterns can be used year round–like the olive and black polka dot.
  • No need to punch out all the elements of the Blossom Petals Punch when you need a single element.  Look at the punch first and decide where you want to stamp on your card stock to "reach" the closest coordinating petal on the punch.  I "fish in" and use up many of my cardstock scraps doing this!
  • The Pinking Hearts Border and Corner Punches add a shot of color and a dainty trim.
  • Here's an alternative clear card I created previously using this same stamp set and punch.

  1. what an exotic looking card…. reminds me of a hibiscus at night in Hawaii…. can you tell where I want to be…lol. Very pretty card..thx for sharing

  2. Wonderful use of that stamp set. It reminds me of the two-step stamping set of the old days and the punchability makes it so much easier. I’m happy to see the technique coming back.

  3. To quote that chef – or John Madden the football guy – BOOM – love that flower!

  4. Your inspiration is something as well! But you have taught me to look for inspiration all around! I love this card!

  5. Gorgeous card! The antique brads are the perfect touch for this stamp set (I did the same thing this past week) The card is so “happy”; just the inspiration we need during the winter doldrums.

  6. Mary,
Love, love, love this card! It is just beautiful, and the colors pop! Once again, it reinforces my need for the build a blossom set and punch. I’m so glad I found your website. Have a great Monday!

  7. Mary, this is such a beautiful card! I love how you used the heart pinking border, and how you followed the sketch – very cool! Thanks for sharing 🙂

  8. Good morning, Mary: What a beautiful card!!!!! I got my Tulip Embossing Folder last week and I’m so happy I will be able to try it with this wonderful idea. If you keep your eyes open you can trully find inspiration everywhere!!!!!
Thank you for always sharing your ideas with us.
    Maria.
