Mojo171 and New Scrunchy Ribbon Video!

Stampin up mojo monday nature walk occasions mini catalog
Abracadabra!  It's time for a new Mojo Monday Sketch and a little ribbon magic! Today's round or square sketch challenge (MOJO171) is truly enchanting.  I opted this week for square . . . party because it worked so naturally with my latest passion–scrunchy ribbon.  It's so easy and my new 1 Minute to WOW! Video Tutorial will show you how to perform a little ribbon magic of your own!

  Mojo171Sketch

Turn Stampin' Up! Satin Ribbon into scrunchy in seconds.  No needle and thread allowed!  Yes, this video tutorial is a tidtad over 2 minutes . . . but well worth a few extra moments of explanation!  You'll use this method over and over.  A special thank you goes out to my Stampin' Pretty Pals for sharing their scrunchiest ribbon success stories.

STAMPIN' PRETTY TIPS:

  • Stampin up mojo monday nature walk antique brad NEW PRODUCT ALERT!  OOOooo la la . . . this pretty patterned paper is from the Stampin' Up! Botanical Gazette Designer Series, a newcomer from the Occasions Mini Catalog (available Jan. 4).
  • NEW PRODUCT ALERT!  The vintage bird cage was stamped using Nature Walk stamp set (also available Jan. 4).  It's snipped out and propped up on Stampin' Dimensionals.  The Antique Brad seems right at home.
  • My Early Espresso card base measures 5 1/4" square. Each small square of Botanical Gazette paper measures approximately 2" square.  The larger piece (center) measures 2 3/4" square.
  • The sentiment (Elements of Style) and bird cage were stamped directly on Botanical Gazette Designer Series Paper for a coordinated finish.

DO TELL!  Have you tried the scrunchy method using other Stampin' Up! ribbon or have any helpful tips to share?  What do you think of today's project and video?  Please leave a comment below!

  1. Mary,
Love this tutorial, it’s just beattiful. Quick question though, how do you prevent pulling that thread all the way through? I had my first club (new demonstrator) and we tried it but several of the girls pulled it all the way through. I tried a glue dot and folded it over and it worked ok, but I wonder if there is an easier solution? Would love any feedback.
Thanks so much and for all the inspiration

  9. Hi Nancy E: I think it would still need a 64 cent stamp since there are “bumps.” However, with a piece of card stock on top, it should “sail” through in a regular envelope (much like I do for brads, etc.). To be sure, a padded envie is a smart idea, too 🙂

  17. Hi Kathy:

Thanks, Kathy! I occasionally will dip my foot in the “vintage” card making camp. It’s such a hot trend. The beauty of the new Botanical Gazette paper and Nature Walk stamp set is that I can get “the look” without distressing, sponging, etc. My kinda vintage! Hugs, M
