The Stampin' Up! Curly Label Punch was a trooper in popping out my houndstooth design.  Here's another example of this look from a prior post.  Need I explain my fashion inspiration from Boden catalog?

Fullscreen capture 10182010 122719 PMSTAMPIN' PRETTY TIP:  To create the houndstooth pattern, I adhered and angled the Melon Mambo curly label punches to cover a 4 x 5 1/4" piece of Concord Crush card stock.  I then "lopped" off anything that extended beyond the Concord Crush border.  So easy 🙂

  3. Hi Mary,

I would never have thought to use my paper snips to get the rhinestones, or any embellishment with sticky backs, off of the paper and onto my cards. Great idea. Thanks so much.

Also, I agree with so many other ladies here you truly are talented and have such class about yourself and your card making style. 🙂

    Thanks for sharing.

  6. Use of scissors to adhere gems, etc is new to me. You make it look easier than my method. Thanks. Also love the idea of placing shapes on the diagonal to make a pattern. Super great idea. Thanks for that too.

  9. Fun card Mary! I don’t have great luck with the piercer or the tweezers but maybe this will be easier – worth a try. I do better with my fingers than the tweezers or maybe my tweezers are the problem! Anyway, the background is amazing! I looked at it and couldn’t imagine how you did it. I thought there must have been some die cut or something. How fun, gotta try it! Thanks for all your inspiration!

  10. I love when you show the fashion inspiration – terrific how you interpreted it! And I learned about paper snips today – I use the very unreliable fingernail method so I am going to try the snips for sure!

  16. Thanks for the tip, I usually use tweezers and like to have different ideas in case I can’t find my tweezers. 🙂 The card is cool too. Will have to try to make one like it sometime.

  17. Hi Doris: I just “broke down” and bought the distressing kit personally. I’m going to give myself a few lessons and will keep your suggestion in mind to share tips and possibly a video in the future.

  18. Well, isn’t that easy. I struggle with getting those little things on a card and now I can do it with ease. Just a thought…can you make a video showing how to use the Distressing Essentials on page 195. I purchased it and now don’t know what to do with it.

    Thanks,

  21. Fantastic Job! I love the bold colors you chose! I use the paper piercer tool to place my jewels as it has that super pointy edge great for grabbing the little pretties!
