Stampin up cupcake punch video scallop border video tutorial close Love the look of the Scallop Trim rectangle on today's card but have never gotten the border and corner punches to cooperate (or never tried)?  I hope you can spare a few extra minutes to learn the easiest way I have found to create rectangles (and squares) using the Stampin' Up! Scallop Trim Corner and Border Punches.  I went a tad into "overtime" on today's 1 Minute to "WOW" Video Tutorial (4 minutes).  However, I was determined to share my favorite tips to help you enjoy your Stampin' Up! products more than ever!

Download rectangle and square measurement chart.

STAMPIN' PRETTY TIPS:

  • Stampin up cupcake punch clear bitty button Master one size at a time.  Once you have a little "cropping" confidence, the rest of the sizes will flow.
  • The bold PPA color combination gets a softer look when paired with plenty of Very Vanilla.
  • I'm totally diggin' the Stampin' Up! Cupcake Punch (right down to the confetti it pops out simultaneously).  Today's card is a sneak peek from the Occasions Mini Catalog which will go live in January, 2011.
  • I have a hard time resisting the urge to create a coordinating envelope.  For a quick lesson on lining an envelope, click here for a video tutorial.

  1. Thanks so much! I have been so frustrated with my attempts at making that punch work. I’ll try again, and keep my fingers crossed now that I have this information!

  2. The size chart is invaluable for using the corner and border punches correctly. Thanks a million! It still took a couple of tries but I did end up with a usable mat. The next one should go more quickly and with less paper waste.

  3. Mary, I struggle and struggle with ideas on the color combination challenges whereas you make it look so easy! You have an innate sense of color style that I adore!! Can’t “copy” it yet, but just wait after the occasions mini catalog release…

  6. Mary, thanks so much for your video today. I learned about the special groove which I thought might be there, but wasn’t sure! And a BIG thank you for your condensed measurement chart for using the scallop punches on squares and rectangles. I had already printed Gretchen’s tutorial, but yours is a great addition.
I am hosting two card-making work-bees this month to make cards to sell at our annual PEO Chapter silent auction and one card utilizes the punches. These gals will love to watch your video before they try to use them. Most of the gals are not card-makers.
    So … thanks, AGAIN, Mary!

  7. Mary this is such a bright and cheery card. Your video was a GREAT teaching lesson on the trim and border punch lining up correctly. It’s was not as easy as I thought when I purchased them, but hopefull this tip will let me use them together more often. So much easier to SEE something on a video. Hope to see more. TFS
