THE NEW PPA CHALLENGE TWIST:  We absolutely HAD to jazz up our challenge to get your attention. With every PPA challenge, you can play two versions of the same card (or just play one, of course)  First, upload your simple and clean "day look" and then "dress it up" for "evening" elegance.  Click here for full details.

WHAT ELSE IS COMING ON THE PPA?  How about celebrity guest stampers (yep, the papercrafting superstars will be playing the PPA challenge, too) to inspire you in future Pals Paper Arts challenges?  I'm doing a happy dance!

Whew!  I hope you have a cup of tea handy, a few minutes to relax and are ready to learn a bit more about my project for this week's Pals Paper Arts challenge (PPA56).  I have bunches of Stampin' Up! products and tips to share.

Stampin up pals paper arts suede 5 petal flower Shall we start with a Simple Felt Flower Video Tutorial?  I saw the texture of the suede purses in the inspiration photo and decided to "dress up" my flower for the matchbox.  This little felt flower jumps to life in just minutes . . . my kind of papercrafting 🙂

Stampin up pals paper arts simply adorned baubles NEW PRODUCT ALERT!  The Baubles are coming!  Starting Sept. 1, the Stampin' Up! Holiday Mini Catalog will offer these new baubles that you can add to a Simply Adorned Bracelet (shown above)  or necklace. The lobster clasp allows you to add a little bling in seconds and switch from necklace to bracelet and back again.

Although I consider my bracelet and matchbox "dressed up" for the purposes of the new PPA Challenge, I also incorporated the idea of a "day look" with this simple card, drawing it's strength from brushed gold card stock and a simple four square pattern.

This sentiment from Word Play stamp set opens the door to many "possibilities" (as it suggests).  I kept it basic with the addition of a Stampin' Up! Antique Brad (gotta have 'em).  This pulls together the card and box (which also sports an Antique Brad).

STAMPIN' PRETTY TIP:  Kick start your color scheme. I pulled my color inspiration from the bottle in the challenge photo and "translated" it quickly with the help of my Stampin' Up! Color Coach, Item #121620 (one of My Top 10 New Catalog Favorites).

  1. So back to the recipe: This chutney is a 20-minute, no-frills affair. Peach, ginger and thyme go into a saucepan with shallots, sugar and water. You cook it down until the peaches are nicely softened, discard the ginger and thyme and serve. Train operators have sporadically slasdfowed down TRE trains running between downtown Fort Worth and Dallas several times since Aug. 6, and may have to do so again in the coming days as temperatures continue to soar, Hunter said. When the slowdowns occur, riders are given a heads-up on the public address system, she said.Despite the inconvenience, it?s not as bad as it could be. In August 1998, 13 Union Pacific Railroad freight cars derailed in Watauga after extreme summer heat warped the tracks.

  2. Your video was great! I never knew it could be so easy to “felt” the cardstock. I’ve seen it done the other way with water and it just look like too much for me to try. I’ll be trying this way soon.

  4. Amazing Tutorial. You rock…..love this flower (cute, cute, cute). I can’t wait to make one at the scrap I’m going to this weekend. I wish I had those brads but will settle for brass buttons instead. Thanx a million for sharing, Becky 😉

  9. Mary,

I absolutely LOVE that color combo. I’ve been putting off getting the Color Coach. Now I KNOW I have to have it. My brain would not think of that color combination.
