New Video: Scallop Circle Folded Flower

Stampin up newsprint joy fold card

Stampin up scallop circle punch flower I created a couple joy fold cards for two workshops this past month.  Essentially, a joy fold card is a large and small card that intersect each other.  It's one of my favorite ways to "package" a handmade card with a special note tucked inside.  Here are my tips on how to create a joy fold card.

It was love at first sight when I spotted these folded flowers in the Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalog (p. 123).  I credit fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrator Melissa Stout with the first tutorial I could find with the "how to" details. After making many of these simple and beautiful flowers, I thought I would share a video of my own!

Here's the second joy fold version, for a workshop hostess who adores pastels.  Her guests were "wowed" by the flower:

  1. That was not only fun – but it sure beats my accordian folding method using strips of paper because I always cut the paper a little wonky or something! Def’ly easier this way, so TFS!

Also, and I mean this in a fun spirit – do Americans pronounce scallop your way (scol-lup), because I’m Canadian and say ‘scal-lop’ [like saying ‘pal’] ……I guess its a “you say tomato I say tomahto” thing! 🙂

My sister in Australia is a stamping up girl & she sends me all sorts of ideas & things to help me as she has been stamping a lot longer than me. Perhaps we will see some cleaver stampers making wreaths out of your beautiful flowers, can’t wait to make some flowers thanks Shirley. Nz
