Sneak Peek Day 5: Seeing the Sixties

Stampin up pear pizzazz perfect punches

Yeah, baby!  It's time for a little trip to the 60's in the form of a bold, retro card.  Dare I use the word "mod?"  I swooped this groovy layout from fellow demonstrator and friend Nancy Riley.  Here's her splashy True Friend card

STAMPIN' PRETTY TIPS:

  • Stampin up circle punches sneak peek It's so simple to make these retro rings.  Punch the small circle first.  Then crop (off center) around the area the small circle was removed from with a larger circle punch.
  • Two swinging new catty colors "make the scene."  Early Espresso and Pear Pizzazz will be available July 1.  Early Espresso is a modern, bittersweet chocolate.  Pear Pizzazz is a fresh, warm green, softer and lighter than Old Olive.  I'm officially "over" the loss of Kiwi Kiss (retired many moons ago).
  • Digging the Designer Paper?  It's another sneak peek from the new catalog called Greenhouse Gala.  Colors among the mix of beautiful patterns include Pear Pizzazz, Daffodil Delight, Chocolate Chip (yes, I cheated with Early Espresso here–so far no lightning strike), Real Red and Baja Breeze.
  • Perfect Punches stamp set may be the "it" sentiment set from the new 2010-2011 Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog.  The six stamps coordinate with six Stampin' Up! punches.  Quick and polished looks every time.
  • For a subtle accent, I scored the Pumpkin Pie horizontal layer with a double line. Very "groovy!"  Couldn't resist the pun 🙂

  5. To Susan, I think we are both right on the “official” use of “mod” 🙂 I checked on Wikipedia and they refer to the following (covering both the 60’s and 70’s). Ain’t trivia grand?

    # 1960s British youth subculture
    # Mod revival, a rebirth of the mod subculture in the late 1970s

  6. Beautiful card! I love the colors, the design, EVERYTHING!

You’re right about that sentiment set… it will be the “go to” sentiment set from the new catalog! Wonderful!
