Sneak Peek Day 2 & the Winner Is . . .

Stampin up greenhouse gala designer series paper

Thank you to all of you who participated this past week in the Stampin' Pretty Pals Fond Farewell Blog Hop and Blog Candy Blowout.  Stampin' Up! products from 17 blogs will be delivered to 17 lucky winners.

From over 400 comments, here's how you responded:  If you had $50 extra to spend on the Stampin' Up! Summer Mini, many of you said you would purchase the Itty Bitty Bits stamps and accessories or flip for the Stampin' Up! Island Floral Bigz Die.

The random generated winner of my blog candy (shown above) is: (drum roll, please)

Terri C., who said…

I would buy the Watercolor Trio, Blissful
Bride, and Go
Graduate, mainly because I have just about everything else in the
catalog. I do like those sets, but haven't purchased them.

*****Terri:  please email

pronto!

So onward to today's sneak peek of products from the new Stampin' Up! 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog (available July 1) PLUS  a really cool tip from my friend Sandy Grupka on how to make two mini envelopes out of a single Whisper White Small Open-End Envelope (107286).

Stampin up scallop rectangle clearlits The new catty's Greenhouse Gala Designer Series Paper is the highlight of both mini cards I created today. The patterns are fresh, elegant and colorful.  Take note of the results from using a Scallop Rectangle Clearlit (new, for use with the Big Shot Die-Cut Machine) in Daffodil Delight. It provides a sweet frame for my "heartfelt thanks" sentiment.

DON'T MISS the Daffodil Delight 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon . . . I adore the touch of white trim along the sides.

To create two mini envelopes out of the Stampin' Up! Whisper White Small Open-End Envelope, cut in half (at approximately 3 3/8").  Adhere, the open end.  You'll end up with two pockets.

Stampin up greenhouse gala designer series paper envelope flaps

Cut two 3 1/2" by 2 1/2" rectangles of designer series paper for flaps.  I rounded the corners with a Corner Rounder Punch.  Score at 1" (the long direction) and attach the 1" side to the front of the envelope.

Here's that the front overhang will look like.

STAMPIN' PRETTY TIPS:

  • Finished envelope size:  3 1/2" x 3 3/8"
  • Finished card size:  3 1/4" x 3 1/8"

My second card uses a new Stampin' Up! stamp set called Friends Never Fade (available July 1).  Recipes for both cards are below

  1. Love the colors in this DSP! As usual, you paired it beautifully with the ribbon and the sentiment to bring out its best. I am really loving these smaller card ideas!

You have to tell Terri that she now has to order the Watercolor Trio set!!

  2. Gorgeous stuff as always! Thanks for the tip on the envelopes – I love making those little cards but don’t always have envelopes to fit. Thanks for sharing.

  3. Oh my goodness! I love this idea for the envelopes! I love little note cards, but never make them because I don’t have small envelopes. What a great solution! Thank you for sharing!
