Stampin up itty bitty bits

I promised you yesterday I would provide the details on how quick and easy creating the designer paper envelope above can be!  This size (4 1/4 x 4 1/4) is perfect for a 4 x 4 card!

STEP 1:  I started with 1/2 a sheet of Stampin' Up! Bermuda Bay Designer Series Paper (12" x 6").

STEP 2:  Create a template by carefully "dismantling" a 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 envelope.  I "swooped" mine from my Stampin' Up! Fresh-Cut Notes card and envelope set.  It's a small sacrifice since you can use the template over and over.  Use Dotto along the edges of the template to attach to the designer Paper.

STAMPIN' PRETTY TIP:
I use Dotto Repositionable Adhesive (103305) to keep the "template" in
place instead of tracing it.  It's ready for cutting and saves me a step.

STEP 3:  Paper Snips (103579) are my favorite scissors for navigating curves.  In about two minutes, you have a pretty envelope template

STAMPIN' PRETTY TIP:  Be sure to line the envelope template up square with the pattern, if necessary.

STEP 4:  Score, fold, adhere and say "that was so easy!"

  1. It does look easy–I’ll have to give it a try tomorrow. I agree, great way to use up DP and add finishing details. Thanks for the tutorial. MJ

  2. Another duh moment – the dotto jobber! I, too used my envelopes or just included the card in a bigger envelope etc. This is just so much fun now for even the ones I like to leave on friends desks etc. Thanks Mary! I loved the blog hop! Hope to win some goodies! Looking forward to tomorrow’s to see what you came up with. Thanks so much!

  3. I have made envelopes using old calendars also. I cover the day’s side with a pattern paper using my xyron sticker maker. The calendars have such beautiful pictures on them I hate to throw them out.

  5. Thanks for another inspirational tutorial, Mary! Can you tell me what you use to seal your envelope?

  6. to Marta: This size (based on my understanding of the U.S. Post Office rules) cannot be mailed. Minimum size and width of an envelope is 3.5 x 5″. If I’m mailing it, I typically use this size (or smaller) to tuck in a larger (padded envelope) with a small gift (like nuggets in a matchbox). Hugs, Mary
