I {Heart} Mojo Monday

Stampin up i heart hearts card and box #2

Love is in the air!  With Valentine's Day less than two weeks away, I'm looking at almost every paper crafting project with an angle for love and hearts.  This week's Mojo Monday sketch (MOJO124) offered plenty of fun spaces to share my I {Heart} Heart stamps (Occasions Mini Catalog).

Mojo124Sketch

Let's just say I was feeling "splashy" in the color department.  Frankly, I translated a color combination from p. 62 ("cheers to you") of the Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalog into my heart theme.  See how easy it is to take something that catches your eye (the colors) and turn it into a completely different look.  TIP:  I keep stickies peeking out of my catalog to mark my favorite ideas.

STAMPIN' PRETTY TIPS:

  • Stampin up i heart hearts solid stripes Heat embossing added delicious shine and texture to my hearts and gift box.  Think patent leather!
  • VersaMark and Clear Embossing Powder give a cool tone on tone effect.  I embossed using the Solid Stripes stamp for the largest heart before I layered the dotted heart stamp on top.
  • DON'T MISS!  The Stampin' Up! Occasions Mini Catalog introduces two new colors of Corduroy Buttons–Real Red (used on my card) and Pretty in Pink.
  • Stampin up i love love jumbo wheel Speaking of the box . . . The I {Love} Love Jumbo Wheel rolled a stunning pattern across my box before it was assembled . . . it really pops on the Kraft card stock when embossed in clear.
  • For crisp score lines on my box (and no cut through), I used the Extended Premium Crease Pad.
  • Yep, another sticky note in my catty.  I used the smashing ribbon treatment on the box from p. 100 of the big catalog.  It also inspired my use of the wheel.

STAY TUNED:  This week will be a Love Fest of valentine ideas on Stampin' Pretty!

  6. Oo, I love today’s card! I may have to borrow the idea of using all those bright colors for my son’s Valentine’s Day card (my daughter is a true girly-girl, so she will prefer traditional pink and red.)
