Pals Paper Arts KISS

Stampin up sizzlits little leaves wedding card

Keep It Simple, Sweetie!  That's this week's Pals Paper Arts KISS Challenge (PPA8).  Are you ready to challenge yourself with fewer layers and embellishments?  Click here to play along and see the Stampin' Pretty Pals KISS samples.  We use Stampin' Up! products for our creations.  However, participants can use any brand they want 🙂

STAMPIN' PRETTY TIPS:

  • The skirt from the fashion catty below sparked my choices for colors and layout for PPA8
Stampin up newlywed wedding card
  • Stampin up finial press envelope Punches go a long way toward expediency.  I used four punches and the Stampin' Up! exclusive Little Leaves Sizzlits Die (three times) to rapidly create pretty card elements.
  • Basic Black and Old Olive Textured card stock give a rich finish, requiring fewer embellishments.
  • I used a retired Stampin' Up! 1/4" Circle Punch to create the flower centers.  Any 1/4" hole punch will work as a substitute (even the large hole on the Crop-A-Dile).
  • A little embossing action with the Finial Press Textured Impressions Embossing Folder takes the envelope flap to wow in seconds.
  • Click here for my favorite tips on creating Quick Cards (in less than 10 minutes).

  1. Gotta love those punches. Looks like there will be a tiny tag punch in the future. I have the cutest little stamp set from this trip . . . I think it will be a hot ticket. I learned today that I can use the new stamps I got and share created projects as sneak peeks . . . now I just need time to make something!

  3. Thanks for your question, Stella. You simply slide just the flap into the inside of the Textured Embossing Folder (textured area) and the balance of the envie lays underneath (outside of the textured area). Zip it through. Excellent results every time. My only suggestion is to watch where the texture is in relation to the flap before running it through . . . you want it centered and lined up first.

  4. Absolutely lovely! I love that “Little Leaves” die. Mary, I notice that you use Very Vanilla more than Whisper White, and you use it very well. Any particular reason why you use vanilla more. It does seem to produce a clean look, which is your signature.

  5. Love your card and the embossed envelope! Do please share your technique of embossing only the envelope flap (I’m not visualizing how it goes through the Big Shot).
Thanks! And continue to have a great time at Founder’s Circle…

  8. I always like seeing your source of inspiration and how it translated to your project. The embossed panel on the envelope is SUCH a nice touch!

Enjoy your Founder’s Circle experience! 😀

  9. Hi Cindy:

Thanks for asking about Founder’s Circle. Yes, I’m here in St. George UT getting pampered and having an incredible time meeting so many fellow demos. I had today’s card prepared in advance. I’m off to get a quick workout in, then breakfast, a massage and tonight Elton John and Tim Rice’s Aida at the Tuacahn Amphitheatre. Ahhh the life! I’ll be sharing details on my blog posts over the next few days.

    Hugs,

    Mary
