Mojo Monday Medallion

Stampin up medallion mojo monday

Welcome to another Mojo Monday (MOJO104).  This sketch called for all things round . . . a perfect opportunity to use my Stampin' Up! Circle Punches (1 1/4", 1 3/8", 1 3/4" and Scallop Circle) and play with these Pumpkin Pie flower brads.

STAMPIN' PRETTY TIPS:

Stampin up medallion skirt inspiration

  • I find lots of inspiration from home d?cor and fashion magazines.  The colors and style of today's card were dictated by the skirt from a clothing catalog (above).
  • Popping out a contrasting color for the Medallion is a snap using Stampin' Up!'s 1 3/4" Circle Punch.
  • Stampin up flower designer brads Make brad alignment a breeze.  I use my Mat Pack Template and a Paper Piercer to "set" my holes before popping in the brads.

  1. Thanks for the suggestion, Cheryl. I’ll have to try that. If any of my readers have tried this (or do before I do), let me know how it works for you! Hugs, M

  2. Mary, I also learned that if you use veramark first on the stamp and then ink it, the stamp gets full coverage of the ink.No blotchiness. Good luck.

  3. Hi Pat:

I turn my background stamps rubber side up. I then open my ink pad and pat and slide the ink on the rubber until the coverage looks thoroughly and even. You can usually tell if an area isn’t inked up. I carefully lay the cardstock on the inked stamp and use a piece of scratch paper on top of the whole thing. Holding everything firmly in place, I rub the entire area of the card stock (below the scratch paper). Carefully remove the stamped card stock so that you don’t bump any areas and cause a naughty little splotch! it should work well this way . . . if it’s a solid image stamp, try using one of SU’s sanding blocks to rough it up a bit (be gentle). That can eliminate pooling.

    Hugs, Mary

  4. Lovely card! Love the color too.
Do you have any hints for inking the Medallion stamp or other background stamps to get good coverage? I sometimes get a rather splotchy looking print. Thanks

  5. Where do you pull these designs and color choices from so quickly! Geez! It’s like you’re a never ending fountain of creativity. Now that I actually OWN the medallion, I’m going to have to try and use it in something!
