Autumn in Pendant Park

Stampin up pendant park autumn meadows
Sympathy and get well cards can be a challenge to create.  I often worry they will be too bold, bright or feminine.  However, offering hope shouldn't be limited to neutrals and formal.  Click here for more sympathy and get well card samples.

I used Autumn Meadows Designer Paper (available Sept. 1 in the Holiday Mini Catalog) to create a soft but colorful card.  Autumn Meadows colors include Chocolate Chip, Really Rust, More Mustard, Taken with Teal and Very Vanilla.  Gorgeous colors to have handy as we head into fall.

STAMPIN' PRETTY TIPS:

  • Stampin up tres chic hope The Pendant Park stamp was first inked in Taken with Teal.  I used Sponge Daubers dipped in Chocolate Chip to apply a contrast around the edges, directly to the rubber before stamping.
  • Background stamps like Tr?s Chic are loaded with sentiments.  Crop one out and let it stand on it's own as I did with "hope."
  • Where to place your buttons?  I wiggle them around on top of my card until they say "mama"  (translation: they look good to me).  They are attached with Mini Glue Dots (103683).
HAVE YOU NOTICED?  I have simplified the format for my project instructions and posts.  I'm going to focus on more photos, Stampin' Pretty Tips and less text.  My goal is to make the information more "reader-friendly" and to help me better manage my time (sound familiar)?  However, I invite you to leave me a comment at the end of the post if you have any questions or wish to leave me a comment.  I'll happily edit the comment with answers, as needed, so be sure to check back 🙂

  1. I really like those new papers and am trying real hard to convince myself I don’t need them, as I already have a ton of papers and have preorder the other two paper packs from the mini.

I love autumn colours, so we’ll see how long I manage to hold on before I cave…

Lovely card, BTW – thanks for sharing!

  2. Mary, I had noticed your shortened text in the last few posts. I think it’s great. I’d been skimming the text lately just to pick out the “tips” – so now you’ve saved me that time. Perfect!

  3. Mary –

I usually like clean cut not too busy cards, but you make a beautiful card here with just the right amount of color and accesories. I enjoyed your posts before but I like the simplified version too. I enjoy reading your blog every morning with my coffee … thanks!

  6. Loving your blog, I “stop by” each day. I like the simpler instructions. I usually rely on the photos and only get into the instructions if I see something I don’t recognize or can’t figure out.

    Very nice sympathy card.
