Woo hoo! It’s Mojo Monday 95!

July 11th 2009 038

Mojo95Sketch It’s Mojo Monday and I adore this week’s design (MOJO95). As one of Julee Tilman’s “Mojomakers,” I get to play in advance with her amazing sketches. It’s even more fun to share with you first thing on Monday mornings!

I’m also counting the moments until the cable/internet installer arrives at our new Tucson home today. My numerous trips to restaurants and hotels for wireless internet time is getting a little exhausting. I’m currently sitting at a hotel in a dark parking lot (just before midnight) being bombarded by june bugs (they love my laptop monitor).

I have some pix to share of our “adventures” with the move and the progress of the new Stampin’ Pretty Zone (now more of a disaster zone–but I’m an optimist). I’ll post when I am up to full strength on an internet connection of my very own. What a luxury that will be!

  • I layered a gorgeous piece of Bella Bleu Designer Series Paper on a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ card base of Kraft card stock.
  • The left panel highlights what happens when you zip a piece of Not Quite Navy card stock through a Big Shot with the Embosslits Sweetest Stem. Presto! Cut and embossed in one short trip.
  • The stem is layered over Kraft card stock that I paper pierced using Stampin’ Up!’s Paper Piercer and Mat Pack. TIP: The new catalog offers the Piercer and Mat Pack individually. A budget friendly essential. The final layer is Very Vanilla.
  • Tucked underneath on the right is a piece of luscious Not Quite Navy Textured card stock, dolled up with a couple Button Latte Designer Buttons. TIP: Mini Glue Dots hold buttons firmly in place.
  • The horizontal banner again uses Not Quite Navy Textured card stock, this time layered over a playful eyelet border of Very Vanilla. TIP: I create a longer border than needed and trim to the size I want by taking a little off each side until the ends are balanced (cut equally at the right “hump”). It’s a little extra work but the polished result is worth it.
  • Kraft Taffeta adds a soft and pretty touch. I love how Stampin’ Up!’s Taffeta Ribbon ties beautifully and cuts cleanly.
  • Elegant Thank You (a versatile individual stamp) was inked in Not Quite Navy and stamped on Very Vanilla. It was shaped into a rectangle and propped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I was excited to see many new individual stamps in the catalog (see page 208). My favorite newbie individual stamp is Dasher for $8.95 (116816). Think silhouettes and embossed images. Cool!

We’re just a few days away from the July 15 kick off of two amazing starter kit special offers. Click for details on the Mini Starter Kit for just $85 and the Standard Starter Kit Bonus.
