Happy Mother’s Day!

Gma%20R[1] I want to wish my virtual stamping buddies a Happy Mother's Day!  My family and I will be visiting my husband's Grandmother Rosella (age 100–see this post for her special card) Sunday morning.  She's feisty, charming and has a memory extraordinaire.  I love her childhood stories.  She's the proud matriarch of five generations.

We next zip over to my sister's to have a family "tea" hosted by my niece, Mary Lee (from New "Yawk" City)–the consummate gourmet and garnish maven.  I get the day off–hee hee!

Check out this fascinating history of Mother's Day!

COMING UP NEXT:  My Mojo Monday Sketch 86 design will be up and ready for you on Monday at 7:00 a.m.  I discovered a new twist on this vase I created previously using the Wide Oval Punch.  Stay Tuned.  Think Stampin' Up! Pocket Silhouettes 🙂

  10. This lady sounds like what we call here in the South a “steel magnolia”. That is, a strong woman. Mary, I’m glad you got the day off. You deserve it. As for New York, before I saw where you lived, I thought that you must be in Manhattan because you look so sophisticated and cosmopolitan. But then, there are some people like that everywhere. I have a cousin in Brooklyn. You should hear our conversations. Accents!

  11. Happy Mother’s Day to you too!!

  13. Happy Belated Mother’s Day to you!!

  14. What a blessing she must be to the whole family. I hope someone is recording her stories for posterity. Now having a keen interest in genealogy, I wish I’d recorded my grandparents while I had the chance.
