Stamp By Your Man

PICT0171

Mike Funke is my Guest Stamper today.  I have noticed more and more men indulging in the art of stamping for the same reasons many women do–both relaxation and the pure enjoyment of spending time making something artistic and special.  Let's give it up for Mike (a brave soul) by leaving your comments at the end of this post.

Mike has a clean style and an eye for color. Can this guy tie ribbon with perfection or what?  The card interior (below) is delightful, too.

  1. This is a really great card! I like the colors and all the extras, like the embossed dots and the green ribbon. The inside of the card reminds me of a store bought card and makes me feel guilty for not stamping the inside of my cards more often. Thanks for the inspiration, Mike!

  3. As others have already said, that coloring inside the balloon is perfect! I was sure you’d used an Aqua Painter, but it’s just markers?! Keep up the good work!

  12. Great job. I have tried to involve my husband in my craft and have almost convinced him to help me cut cardstock for an upcoming camp. I will have to show him your project.

  13. Gorgeous card, Mike! I always tell my dh he’d be better at it than I am because he has that artist’s eye. I’m always asking his advice.

  16. Mike, I love your card. You are not alone. My husband also loves to make cards and scrapbook. He is a former teacher (now principal). This is now his version of a classroom bulletin board. My favorite is “borrowing” all of his great paper and embelishments. You have a real gift. Enjoy it with pride.

  19. Excellent work Mike! I love the fact that this card does some serious mileage for so many different recipients. It’s perfect for mailing, too, without dropping more $ and a special trip to the Post Office. Kudos for the inside as well. I have been trying to finish the inside sentiment panel of my cards, but had not thought to do the flip side of the front. I leave here with great inspiration! Thanks again and best wishes to you!

  21. What a fine contribution!! Clean, crisp, simple, under stated. Way to think outside the box, too. The inside of your card is every bit as fetching as the outside and together, the effect is synergistic. Excellent job!! Thanks for sharing your talent with us, Mike!!
