Stamp By Your Man

PICT0171

Mike Funke is my Guest Stamper today.  I have noticed more and more men indulging in the art of stamping for the same reasons many women do–both relaxation and the pure enjoyment of spending time making something artistic and special.  Let's give it up for Mike (a brave soul) by leaving your comments at the end of this post.

Mike has a clean style and an eye for color. Can this guy tie ribbon with perfection or what?  The card interior (below) is delightful, too.

  1. This is a really great card! I like the colors and all the extras, like the embossed dots and the green ribbon. The inside of the card reminds me of a store bought card and makes me feel guilty for not stamping the inside of my cards more often. Thanks for the inspiration, Mike!

  2. Terrific Mike! You have a wonderful design sense as well as terrific style, composition and execution. Thanks for sharing the creativity and inspriation so bravely with the Estrogen crowd!

    Hugs and blessings – Jean

  3. As others have already said, that coloring inside the balloon is perfect! I was sure you’d used an Aqua Painter, but it’s just markers?! Keep up the good work!

  4. Mike, your card is gorgeous! I really enjoyed that you completed the card by decorating the inside in such a fun way. Wish I could see more of your work.

  5. What beautiful work Mike! I think there is hope of my husband sitting down and creating with me someday….until then I’ll have to stick to checking out all Mike has to create. Excellent coloring!

  6. Hey ladies, look out we have some real competition with Mike. What a lovely card and I love you attention to detail. I have a son-in-law who does a great job on cards as well, but not as good as Mike’s. Thanks for letting us share your artwork. Send Mary some more so we can case them.lol

  16. Great job. I have tried to involve my husband in my craft and have almost convinced him to help me cut cardstock for an upcoming camp. I will have to show him your project.

  17. Gorgeous card, Mike! I always tell my dh he’d be better at it than I am because he has that artist’s eye. I’m always asking his advice.

The inside is very cute and your bow is perfect!!

  18. The whole card is great but the shading on that balloon, in particular, is phenomenal! Way to go!

  19. Mike, good for you! I love the inside! I usually leave the inside undecorated, but now I think I might add a little something in there at times! Thanks for sharing.

  22. Mike, I love your card. You are not alone. My husband also loves to make cards and scrapbook. He is a former teacher (now principal). This is now his version of a classroom bulletin board. My favorite is “borrowing” all of his great paper and embelishments. You have a real gift. Enjoy it with pride.

  27. Excellent work Mike! I love the fact that this card does some serious mileage for so many different recipients. It’s perfect for mailing, too, without dropping more $ and a special trip to the Post Office. Kudos for the inside as well. I have been trying to finish the inside sentiment panel of my cards, but had not thought to do the flip side of the front. I leave here with great inspiration! Thanks again and best wishes to you!
