Just Beachy Summer

Stampin up just beachy
Who can resist these darling flip flops?  The Just Beachy stamp set from Stampin' Up!'s Occasions Mini Catalog has all the elements of summer for scrapping and card making (including funky little fish that you will see in another project soon)!

Mojo83Sketch It's Mojo Monday and I offer you Julee Tilman's latest design.  Click on the sketch to enlarge.  I'm so excited to be able to get her masterful layouts in advance and have a sample ready for you first thing every Monday morning!

  • The flip flop stamp was dipped in Tangerine Tango Ink and stamped on Whisper White (2 5/8" x 2").
  • I added a Scallop Edge to Textured Pacific Point and layered it on top.
  • The flip flop image is matted on Summer Sun and Tangerine Tango, each 1/8" larger.
  • The large square (3 3/4" x 3 3/8") uses a retro pattern from Hand Drawn Designer Series (Hostess Level 3 Bundle).  It's layered on Pacific Point (1/8" larger).
  • The sun stamp was inked in Summer Sun and stamped on Whisper White.  It's cropped with a 1 1/4" Circle Punch and layered on a 1 3/8" Summer Sun Circle.
  • My Scallop Circle Punch was the perfect backdrop in Textured Pacific Point card stock.
  • A Bouquet Designer Button (Baja Breeze) with a sliver of Pacific Point card stock threaded through and tied lends a delicious polish.
  • The card base is 5 1/4" x 5 1/4".  TIP:  This fits neatly inside a Stampin' Up! 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" Whisper White Medium Square Envelope (107289).
  • I layered Textured Tangerine Tango card stock over the card base in addition to Textured Pacific Point card stock as a horizontal element, shaped up with a Scallop Border Punch.
  • Tangerine Tango 5/8" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon provides a jazzy color contrast.
  • The sentiment uses one of the Summer Love Rub-Ons from Stampin' Up!'s Occasions Mini Catalog.  It's layered on Whisper White, followed by Summer Sun and sandwiched between two Summer Sun Trio Punch Flowers.  Note:  The centers are 1/4" Circles in Pacific Point.  This punch is currently retired (but I'm hoping for it's return in the next catalog–I use it all the time).

  2. That’s a fun one! The colors are summery and different. I especially like how you maDe the scallop edge look like water! Very cool! I got to play with this sketch too, tonight – fun one!

I hope to see more ideas done with this stamp set! 😀

  3. Okay, I’m new to this I know, but what a great idea to use a sliver of card stock in the button. I always wondered how I would get the match between the thread and the SU colors. I was thinking of coloring string with a Stampin’ write marker. This is SOOOO much easier. AND it uses scraps! Beautiful job! Again – another inspiring design!

  5. That little trip to Tucson gave you a little touch of Summer. Just looking at that card makes me want to dig out the flip flops and bathing suits. Thanks for the uplift and did I tell you, I love the card?
