Rock-N-Roll Daisies

Stampin up upsy daisy summer sun
Today's card combines a little Rock-N-Roll with Splitcoast Sketch (SC220), Color Challenge (CC210, Kraft, Summer Sun, Riding Hood Red) and my Stampin' Pretty Pals twist to include ribbon.

TIP:  To Rock-N-Roll, I inked the Upsy Daisy stamp with Summer Sun and lightly rolled the edges on a Riding Hood Red Ink Pad.  Every design will be different using this method, but always interesting.  I used a Stamp-a-ma-jig to add the Pocket Silhouettes "friend to friend" sentiment in Riding Hood Red.

I layered the main panel on Riding Hood Red and added a delicious piece of Riding Hood Red Taffeta Ribbon.  The vanilla trim is so rich.  The panel was adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals to Kraft card stock.  Three Summer Sun Corduroy Buttons accent the right side.

SC220
Using this week's Splitcoast Sketch, I layered 1" wide strips of Riding Hood Red and Summer Sun Textured card stock along with a snappy polka dot from Stampin' Up!'s Rockabilly Designer Series Specialty Paper on Very Vanilla.  TIP:  Don't worry about the length of the strips.  Just adhere all five strips and trim  the entire top and bottom at once.  You get a perfect edge that way.

The Kraft card stock base is 4.25 x 5.5 and scored at the top.  TIP:  All Daily Splitcoast Challenges are listed and linked on my left side bar for your convenience.

  3. I had noted the SCS color challenge and wondered if you would take it. I’m glad you did, because the result is beautiful. I have this set and colors, so I’m going to try this. I hope I can get my inks to roll out as well as you did. How do you like working with the Kraft paper?

    Hi Nancy:

I love working with Kraft paper. It’s the “other” neutral 🙂

When I saw the SCS colors, I could only picture a kitchen towel . . . funny how our minds work. After looking at my stamps, I was able to use a little more imagination.

Thank you for your kind feedback on the card.

    Hugs, Mary
