5-Petal Mojo Monday

Stampin up polka dot punches

Monday came up very quickly when I realized I needed to get this week's Mojo Monday Week 78 sketch ready and it was 6:00 Sunday evening.  Once I recovered from my mini panic attack, I printed the sketch (I get them in advance, lucky me) and started figuring out colors and what should go where.

Stampin up polka dot punches five petal flowerStampin' Up!'s Raspberry Tart Designer Series Paper made color selection a snap.  I inked the five petal stamp from Polka Dot Punches (free during Sale-A-Bration with a $50 order) in Rose Red and stamped it on Rose Red card stock.  The stamp coordinates beautifully with Stampin' Up!'s Five Petal Punch and quickly yielded three sweet flowers.

The flowers were adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals to Whisper White card stock and a layer of Cameo Coral.  TIP:  To "round" the lower part of this panel to work with the Mojo sketch, I added a piece of Textured Cameo Coral card stock that had been cropped with a Large Oval Punch.  Each flower is topped with a Kiwi flower button. A sliver of Cameo Coral card stock is threaded through the holes for a finished look.

The "be happy" sentiment is from Darling Dots (Hostess Level 1).  It was inked in Kiwi Kiss and stamped on Whisper White.  I cropped it with a 1" Circle Punch.  TIP:  When using Hodgepodge Hardware label holders, I attach the sentiments to the card first using Stampin' Dimensionals.  The dimensionals help fill out the label holder and keeps it from shifting when adding the hardware/brads.

The balance of the card is composed of Raspberry Tart Designer Series Paper, followed by Cameo Coral and a 4.25 x 5.5 card base in Whisper White (scored at the top).  A snippet of Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon is the final touch.

  3. Silly silly question but….what does MOJO stand for? I just adore your style. Your cards simply “smile” all over!! If I could only breathe your “air” and get some of your talent in me!!!!!! If only!!!! Great work as usual. Sara

    Hi Sara:

I think of “mojo” as when my creative side kicks in. The actual definition is a tad more decadent and refers to casting magic spells and even voodoo. Yipes. Hugs, Mary

  6. What a beautiful card. I haven’t used my Raspberry Tart DP yet, but I’m off to the craft room to make this card. I don’t have the buttons, but I’ll think of something to put in the middle. Thanks for another masterpiece.

  8. Oh! I really like this layout and the colors are great! I would never think to use cameo coral with raspberry, but I love the look. I’m glad you have the talent to share these things with us. What a blessing you are.
