Stampin up an egg-cellent easter

Ready for Easter?  There's still time to pre-order Stampin' Up!'s new Spring and Easter stamps from the Occasions Mini and receive your goodies with time to spare for preparation.  Click here for what's available now from the Occasions Mini (including the stamp set used for today's project) before it's April 1 release!

Stampin up an egg-cellent easter candy lane
She's such a pretty girl that I had to give her a sweet polka dot dress. My "An Egg-cellent Easter" bunny was stamped three times in Basic Brown Ink.  First, she was stamped on Watercolor Paper, where I added a touch of Pink Pirouette with a Blender Pen to her blushing cheek and nose.  Second, she landed on the polka dot pattern from Stampin' Up!'s Candy Lane Designer Series Paper and only her dress was snipped out.  Finally, I stamped her on Regal Rose to create a contrasting band for her waist.

After dolling up the Easter basket with a Stampin' Up! Regal Rose Marker, I cut and embossed her with Nestabilities Ovals (www.ucutathome.com).  I again used the oval dies for the Chocolate Chip scalloped oval mat.

The layout for today's design is a hybrid of a couple cards created by my friend Silke from last year.  I attached the oval to a splendid stripe from Candy Lane Designer Series Paper and layered on Chocolate Chip.  TIP:  The brads in the three corners are Rose Red from Soft Subtles . . . yep, they don't technically match.  However, with a variety of pinks going on, I think playing up different pinks gives personality.

Stampin up an egg-cellent easter card

The sentiment was stamped on Very Vanilla, cropped with a 1 1/4" Circle Punch and adhered with a couple Stampin' Dimensionals to a 1 3/8" Circle of Chocolate Chip.  A Regal Rose Scallop Circle behind adds a jazzy dose of deep pink.  TIP:  Sentiments don't always need to be the "center of attention."  Try stamping (or punching) off center and leave room for a fun brad like this Chocolate Chip Flower Designer Brad.

The Very Vanilla card base is 4.25 x 5.5 and scored at the top.  TIP:  The same Candy Lane paper for the bunny's dress was used on the card base.  Regal Rose 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon plays up the variety of pinks and balances the Regal Rose in the sentiment.

Stampin up matchbox bigz xl die

How cool is this matchbox style nugget box!  It's created from Stampin' Up!'s Medium Window Sheets and Matchbox Bigz XL Die (both available in the Occasions Mini on April 1).  It's the perfect nest for four Hershey's Nuggets, wrapped in the Candy Lane stripe.  Little Boho flowers (each attached with a Mini Glue Dot) look charming peeking through their clear cover.

I would like to thank fellow stamper Nancy Riley for including my Branch Out Black and White card in her iPicks this week.  Very exciting.

  7. So Sweet!! Love the paper piecing and watercoloring. I’m thinking the soft colors of this card might have been a challenge for the queen of bold? Love it!
