Isn't it amazing where you can find inspiration for a card? I saw this charming book cover today while walking thru Border's and immediately began to think about how I could translate it into a card.
My sweet little tree stamp is from Trendy Trees ($17.95, all images shown below). You can mix and match retro trees and trunks, using different colors. Based on my personal experience with customer orders, this newly released set is the "it" set under $20 from Stampin' Up!'s Spring/Summer Idea Book & Catalog.
Fifth Avenue Floral, Branch Out, Thoughts and Prayers, Friends 24/7 and Good Friend are hot ticket items, too. Three Little Words (p. 136) is a sleeper, but versatile and a fabulous value at $13.95.
What is your "it" stamp set from the new Stampin' Up! Catalog? Please leave me a comment. I would love to hear what makes your heart go pitter pat š
I began my card today by heat embossing the tree with White Embossing Powder on Not Quite Navy card stock. TIP: A Stamp-a-ma-jig makes precise placement possible.
This week's Splitcoast Sketch Challenge (SC214) provided the road map on where to continue my design along with the requirement to combine it with Designer Series Paper for my
Very cool card! Love the navy and white. And the tree. I have a thing for trees and twigs. For me the new go-to-set is Branch Out. Love love love those silhouette stamps! I really hope that this set will be available in Germany, too.
Many Greetings from Heidelberg

I think this is the first time I’ve commented on your blog! š Usually, I’m a big-time “lurker”!! I really LOVE your blog, I find inspiration every time I visit….I thought this card using the Trendy Trees set was just such a nice card! I loved the simplicity of it, and I just received my set today, so can’t wait to get it inky! I also loved the tour of your stamp room, such a wonderful room! Thank you for all your beautiful cards and projects that inspire me! š
That is one of my favorite new sets – Trendy Trees. I love your inspiration piece. Good thinking there Mary!
Trendy Trees was one of the set that caught my eye right away and that I knew I just had to have, but I guess the one that was “it” for me is the Card Games because I was hoping for a stamp set with a Queen card and couldn’t believe my eyes when I opened the catalogue I saw it! My team’s name is Dames en art (Queens of Art) and this will be the perfect stamp set to use for name tags and whatnots.

My favorite new stamp set is “Branch Out.” I see a lot of possibilities for it. I am waiting on my Sale-a-Bration order to come. I can’t wait to try my “Polka Dot Punches” set also. Splitcoast Stampers website has some cute samples for the “Branch Out” set. I really like their gallery, and, of course, yours, Mary. I can’t wait to see what you are going to do next.

Awesome card Mary!!! You are the Queen of Inspiration š

Another beautiful card. Another stamp set on the wish list. Love it, love it.
What a lovely card! I especially like your comments about the “it” list of stamps. It’s nice to see what the trends are in each new catty. Looks like trees are “in” this spring!
I just ordered this set yesterday and now I really can’t wait to get it. Thanks, Mary, for the inspiration; it looks lovely stamped all white!
It was very interesting to read about your creative process with this card. I am trying to take the leap and create a card from a blank sheet of paper. Your blog is helpful in so many ways. Thank you.
I love this Mary! I got the rub-ons but not the tree’s yet!
Love this so much—Trendy Trees is sitting on my shelf–my next stamp set to ink up and play with!

Gorgeous! Love how you ran with your inspiration. The Not Quite Navy scheme is very elegant and really pops with white.
Mary, you couldn’t be any closer in creating a likeness of the book. I am blown away by your talent. This was a very enjoyable post. Perhaps I can take some time to try and do the same thing. How interesting.
Oh Mary – you outdid yourself with this one as far as I’m concerned. Of course, I’m a bit prejudiced. Blue is my favorite color – any shade of blue and I find monochromatic cards to be elegant and tasteful. I just absolutely, positively love this card. Great job.
Mary, another gorgeous card. I love how you share tips and all the ingredients for a card, it is soooo helpful.
I am loving Sip by Sip, I just can’t seem to put it down.
I love what you did here with Trendy Trees. Very pretty.
What a beautiful monochromatic card! I love checking out your wonderful ideas and color combos.. such an inspiration!
This was the first oen I ordered….it was a toss up between this and the Branch Out set.
Lovely card! TFS
I must have good taste! š My favorite set from the new catalog is also Trendy Trees. I coordinates superbly with the Mellow paper by Basic Grey, to which I am hopelessly addicted!
I love this card and this set. It is one of my fav’s from the new cattie! Great job on the sketch/card!
Gosh, I cant believe Im in the groove finally. I love all the “hot” sets you mentioned. Thoughts and Prayers and Branch Out will be delivered to me on Monday, along with the friends wheel and several other goodies. I almost got Trendy Trees, but thought 2 tree sets was enough at one time š Thanks for sharing your lovely creations!
i really cannot wait to get 5th Avenue Florals!!! arg, my order is not set to arrive until the 12th, oh well, i’ll have to play with my “older” stuff for a little longer.
My favorite set from the new spring/summer catalog is Thoughts and Prayers. The set that really tickles my funny bone is the new set called That’s Funny. I just love the complimentary peanuts. I really love your site and I check it out everyday.
