Trendy Trees and Brads

Stampin up trendy trees manchester

Need a masculine card?  Today's card is perfect to brighten up the day of my ailing godfather.  The touch of ribbon resembles a bow-tie (or is it just me?) which helps it slip past the "girlie-meter."  For more masculine card ideas, CLICK HERE!

Stampin' Up!'s Trendy Trees offers buildable treetop and trunk stamps to mix and match.  A Stamp-A-Ma-Jig assists in layering the adorable individual tops on the Chocolate Chip trunks.  From left to right, the colors include Certainly Celery, Always Artichoke and Kiwi Kiss. The Very Vanilla layer tops Always Artichoke card stock with four Vintage Brads accenting the corners.

TIP:  Experiment with layers.  Making my artichoke mat shorter and wider offers a different perspective.  It's a smart way to incorporate your scraps, too.  The sentiment was inked in Chocolate Chip and stamped on Kiwi Kiss. The entire panel was popped up on Stampin' Dimensionals.

I grabbed this dishy plaid from Stampin' Up!'s Manchester Designer Series paper and layered it on Chocolate Chip.  A snippet of Chocolate Chip 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon provides a dapper touch.  The Always Artichoke card base is 4.25 x 5.5 with Very Vanilla layered on top.

The star of the show is Stampin' Up!'s 5/16" Jumbo Brads in Chocolate Chip.  The collection comes with 80 brads, 20 each of Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, Whisper White and Silver.  The same collection also comes in a 5/8" version for a really bold accent (and enough room for a small rub-on–cool).

  1. Love this card! It would be good for a guy or a gal! I really like the layout and the colors. I also like the brad placement! This seems like a really versatile stamp set!

  2. i love the little trees. very cute. and the brads just add your bling to your cards. great job Mary!

  3. WOW Mary, this is an amazing card. You have really showcased this set so well. After seeing this card, I wanted to CASE it so I checked out your Stamp-A-Ma-Jig tutorial as well.

You know I have been thinking a lot about this, the rate at which I hang out here at your site and the amount of money I spent in Stampin Up Supplies, I should be a hobby demo. Just that the lack of time with my busy job is holding me back. But you do not have to recruit Mary, one look at your blog will just bowl them over.

  4. I would’ve never thought to use the artichoke mat like you did — you always bring so much inspiration and give me the courage to “think outside the box”!

  5. Mary, this is my favorite set out of the new catalog. I love this card. You did a great job!

  6. That is a stunning card, Mary! I only wish I had the time (and $) to join your downline….someday, perhaps. Thanks for keeping me inspired though!

  7. Everything works so well together on this card! The color combo sends it over the top!

  8. An absolutely gorgeous card Mary. I like the fact that you could make multiples of this card with one sheet of DP. I’m always looking for ways to stretch the ole’ stampin’ buck.

  9. It does look like a bow-tie and with that patterned paper – very preppy! Great card for a guy Mary.

You and your recruiting. You go girl! 9 since February is crazy!!! I’m so happy for you!!!
