Love You Much Bundle Ends Jan. 31

Stampin up love you much love birds

SC212
Today's valentine combines this week's Splitcoast Sketch Challenge (SC212) and Color Challenge (CC202, Bravo Burgundy, Old Olive or Kiwi Kiss, and Regal Rose).  TIP:  All my favorite daily challenges are listed on my left side bar.  They make such an excellent starting point for a project.

My two love birds from Love You Much were stamped on Sweet Always Designer Series paper, snipped out and paper pieced for adorable little figures.  TIP:  A Stampin' Dimensional went below each for a little 3-D effect.  There's still time to enjoy a 20% savings on the Love You Much Bundle. Click here for details.  Offer ends Jan. 31.

My order from Stampin' Up!'s Spring/Summer Catalog arrived today.  Dance. Dance.  Gorgeous Designer Paper, new stamps and embellishments plus amazing goodies for the Big Shot Die-Cut Machine.  I'm organizing everything in my new space tonight and you'll see plenty of samples and tutorials 🙂

I grabbed the Texturz Plates and used Squares (along with my Big Shot Die-Cut Machine) to create the luscious embossed background on the Very Vanilla card stock. See all the snazzy Texturz designs below.  The embossed patterns are lovely but softer than the Cuttlebug Embossing folders.  One big benefit is that they are larger than a CB folder and cover an entire 4.25 x 5.5 card and beyond.  The instructions for the sandwich are included on the Big Shot Multipurpose platform.  I'll work up a tutorial for you soon 🙂

The dimensions of each plate are 7 3/8" x 5 7/8".  They fit through the opening of a Cuttlebug.  However, I only have used them with the Big Shot and don't have the specifics on building the sandwich for alternative die-cut machines.   Please check with the manufacturer if you hope to use them on a Cuttlebug or other die-cut machine 🙂

TIP:  I used Stampin' Up!'s Bravo Burgundy and Old Olive Markers to color the sentiment stamp directly (yes, on the rubber).  A few warm huffs to moisten the ink, stamp and you have a two color stamp image.  The sentiment is from Yummy, a Sale-A-Bration stamp set coming Feb. 1.  More peeks soon.

COMING UP TOMORROW:  My design for Taylored Expression's Cupcake Sketch Challenge Anniversary.  Taylor is offering wonderful prizes.  You like prizes, right?

COMING UP SOON 🙂  My Stampin' Pretty Stamping Zone is nearly complete.  I was waiting for a couple of the new D?cor Elements images to arrive to add a final touch of wall art.  It arrived today and I'll give you a full tour in the near future.

  4. Mary, I love everything you show, you are just amazing and such a wonder resource. Ever since I received the new catalog I’ve been wondering how to make those little basket ornaments that hang off the tree on the page you showed, page 27. It says that it uses the 5-Point 3-D Star Die which I have but I can’t figure out how to make it. I thought If anyone knows its you. If you know would you mind letting me know or showing a quick tutorial because I think the project is so cute and could be used over and over again. Thanks so much for all you share.

Hi Jessica: Thank you for your questions. I don’t own the 5 Point 3D Star Die. However, I contacted Stampin’ Up! Customer Service and they described the way to create the cute project on p. 27 as follows. Hope this helps:

Use the Sizzix 5-Point 3D Star to cut six points, three for each side of the basket.

If using DSP, decide which side will be facing outward. Loosely crease the center fold outward.

Fold the side tabs in. Use the round Coluzzle or Circle Scissor Plus round off the pointed end from the top of one side tab to the other.

Adhere the tabs on three points to each other to form half of the basket. Repeat with other three points.

Tie and attach ribbon holder to the middle of the flat side.

Adhere other half of basket to the first.

    Good luck!

    Hi Lisa:

I’m always flattered when someone decides to CASE one of my cards or projects. Hooray. If you post it to a blog, I really appreciate a link back to my post (unless I have CASE’d someone, too 🙂 Hugs, Mary
