Season of Sparkle

Stampin up season of friendship sparkle

Whew!  The Stampin' Up! Holiday Extravaganza Sale (now over) was a huge hit but a wild ride.  I'm glad to be back to stamping and blogging–my ultimate therapy.

I'm still plugging away at my Christmas cards and pulled out Season of Friendship (Stampin' Up! Holiday Mini).  The tree is stamped in Chocolate Chip on Whisper White card stock.  The snowflakes were dipped in VersaMark, stamped on Baja Breeze and heat embossed with White Embossing Powder for shine and sparkle.

TIP:  My favorite thing about this set is that each of the small images (tree, flower, snowflake and leaves) fits nicely in a 3/4" Circle Punch.  Simply popped up on Stampin' Dimensionals, the stamped circles look very stylish. Here's a peek at this set using the leaves.

The sentiment was stamped in Chocolate Chip and Riding Hood Red ink.  TIP:  I snipped out "sparkle" from the Riding Hood Red version and pieced it into the Chocolate Chip for a cool two color effect.  The sentiment was shaped up with a Designer Label Punch, custom fit for the Hodgepodge Hardware Label Holder (Styled Silver–but check out the new Styled Vanilla Hardware (112454), too).

I zipped Chocolate Chip Taffeta Ribbon through the label holder and wrapped it around the Whisper White panel.  Using a Paper Piercer and Template (Stampin' Up! Crafter's Tool Kit) I accented the edges of the Baja Breeze mat and finished up with a Riding Hood Red card base (4.25 x 5.5, scored on the side).

  3. Beautiful, Mary – another set that’s going on the wishlist because of what I’ve seen you do with it. I suspect my husband would like to block me from your site! =) (Good thing I can check it at work first thing every morning)

    hugs, jo ann.

    Hi Jo Ann:

Repeat after me . . . “My goal for 2009 is to send every card I make. My goal for 2009 is to send every card I make.”

I get attached to a few creations now and then. However, to share their beauty, whimsy or originality with another is the beauty of the art form (yes, I think papercrafts are an art form). I try to send every card I make . . . there’s always a recipient for a thank you, birthday or “just a note”

So grab your Season of Friendship, make a card and let me know to whom you decide to send it.

    Hugs,

    Mary

  6. I’m just like Kris, I’ve been waiting all day to see if you were going to post something. It was worth the wait. Nice card. I like that set, I may have to get it but not until after Christmas. I’ll save it for next year. Good job!
