There's something exciting for me about the "chaos" of a major snowstorm. No school for my daughter today. A breathtaking blanket of white. Not a peep from a snow plow until late this afternoon. My husband, daughter and I were hostages in our own home for the last 24 hours. We survived with a fire and an old movie . . . quite delightful.
As I wrap up my holiday card production line, I want to share some of my favorite card ideas. Today's card is especially easy and the PERFECT TOUCH comes from Stampin' Up!'s Little Felt Flurries (113697).
I have had a ball with these crisp and pretty darlings on many of my projects. There are 69 snowflakes, 23 different designs in 3 colors (Baja Breeze, Riding Hood Red and Whisper White). TIP: They range in size from 1.25" to 2.5". I used the largest size for these three cards.
Stamp Set: All Holidays (109397)
Paper: Baja Breeze (111352), Very Vanilla (101650), Riding Hood Red (111348)
Ink: Riding Hood Red (111836)
Cool Tools: Paper Piercer and Template (Stampin' Up! Crafter's Tool Kit, 104310), Big Shot Die-Cut Machine (113439), Cuttlebug Snowflake Embossing Folder
The Perfect Touch: Little Felt Flurries (113697), 1 1/4" Riding Hood Red/Very Vanilla Grosgrain Ribbon (113099), Circle Rhinestone Brads (Ice, 109111, and Fire, 109110).
This sample shows an alternate way to play with a felt flurry (again, the largest of the Little Felt Flurries). The background is similar to one I created over Thanksgiving using a 1" Circle Punch (Very Vanilla Circles over Riding Hood Red card base). The Chocolate Chip Rub-On is from Stampin' Up! Word Flurries (111417) and the brads are Antique Brass from the Vintage collection (109109).
I'm still reeling over the excitement of Stampin' Up!'s FREE SHIPPING OFFER (minimum purchase of $70). This offer applies to all current Stampin' Up! merchandise. What stamp is on the hope peace love card? (the one under that sentiment)
It is so cute.
beautiful cards, Mary!!
I used up most of my small flakes, but sat staring at the bigger ones. Now I know what to do with them, giving credit to you of course. These are fabulous creations.
My cards are out for this year, but I’m thinking of these for next year. Sometimes, it’s just fun to be inside and watch the snow and count your blessings.
oh, i love that polka dot background…i feel one of those coming on soon!! and as for your snow…i’m SO jealous!!! enjoy a little of that snow for me…it’s threatening to snow tonight….my fingers are crossed!!
Wow, Mary, those cards are beautiful! You are so talented! I’m inspired! 🙂
How fun to be snowed in! Lovely cards. Those felt flurries really come in handy on holiday cards.
You used the felt snowflakes beautifully. They are my fave new accessory.
Funny what you said about snow, I thought the same thing yesterday. I was sitting at home and everything was quiet. I really enjoy a good snowstorm – as long as I’m inside! Driving to work this morning was insane! It took me two hours to get there. Urgh!
Enjoy your day!
Cindy
These are lovely! The felt flurries are the perfect touch and I love the wide ribbon! It has been stormy here and in flash flood warning. Wish it was snow like you! Enjoy it for me! Hugs, Monica
