It's raining babies among my family and friends. With the arrival of Ava Gabriella (my friend's new daughter), I wanted to throw something fun and personalized together.
This adorable Tangerine Tango elephant from Nursery Necessities is stamped on Whisper White and matted on a layer of Tangerine Tango. Delicious Kiwi Kiss Hawaii Papaya Designer Paper is layered on Chocolate Chip card stock. "Welcome" from Warm Words (on the dormant list but still available from Stampin' Up!) is stamped in Chocolate Chip. TIP: A Stamp-a-ma-jig (tutorial here) makes perfect placement of the sentiment a snap!
A strip of Stampin' Up!'s Tangerine Tango 5/8" Striped Ribbon brings out the "wow." I added an extra brad on the left because–well, because :) TIP: Logic doesn't always reign. My elephant landed on top courtesy of Stampin' Dimensionals.
This sketch is from Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge, WSC66. The Tangerine Tango base is 4.25 x 5.5 and scored on the side. I layered a handsome stripe from the Hawaii Papaya Designer Series on top. Two Tangerine flowers bloomed from my Boho Blossoms Punch and Jumbo Eyelets were added in near silence with my "soft spoken" Crop-A-Dile eyelet setter. The flowers are attached with Stampin' Dimensionals.
A Flower Fusion Too felt flower in Chocolate Chip (Pink Pirouette and Baja Breeze also come in the kit) is topped with a white Trio Punch flower and Tangerine Boho Flower. All are joined for life with an Antique Brass brad.
COOL TOOL: GO GO BOOTS (113450). Key to personalization of this project ("AVA" in Chocolate Chip), or any card or scrapbook page, is a fabulous alphabet. The whimsical Go Go Boots Alphabet Die Cuts (order thru Stampin' Up! under product #113450) were designed by illustrator Stu Kilgour and are "spot on" when used with my Big Shot Die Cutting Machine. Click for Big Shot details and my Big Shot "101". The specially designed Go Go Boots case (included and tr?s cool) contains dies for snappy upper and lower case letters, numbers, 8 punctuation marks–a total of over 70 shapes. They cut through a single sheet of card stock, foil or vellum.
TIP: My envie received a touch of customization, too. I adhered a strip of coordinating Hawaii Papaya Designer Series paper on top of the flap, flipped it over and trimmed the excess away.
COMING UP: My first video tutorial "Faux Metal Tags" is almost ready (albeit rough around the edges–I'm still learning). I felt it was time to take the plunge.

Girl, did I tell you lately that I think you rock?
Your card looks fantastic! I love all the details.
Thanks so much for playing!
Hugs and smiles
Oh my Mary – this is way tooo cute!!!
Adorable! Love the non-traditional baby colors. I don’t know if I have ever seen this little elephant on a card…but it’s so darn cute! Makes me give a second look to this stamp set!
Your last cards are fabulous!! as always!

What a fabulous card with the sketch – and using Tangerine Tango too – you made this sketch and color combo rock!! Dressing up the envelopes adds that extra special touch too! Looking forward to your video!!
Cute card! My friend is also “expecting” (she was due yesterday) a new baby girl and her name is Ava too 🙂
Hi Mary,
I just had to say that this is the cutest baby card I’ve seen in a long time! And I LOVE that you said it’s “raining babies” in your circle. It is in mine, too! 3 Friends, my husband’s brother’s wife, and my own brother’s wife are all due before April. That’s a lot of babies!

I love the card!! Great job! It is really cute.
Love the card. Love the alphabet. How do YOU adhere those tiny little letters? I have my ways and none are too easy.
Hi Karren:
I used Stampin’ Up!’s 2-Way Glue Pen to adhere my Go Go Boots letters. It’s a 2-way glue because it starts out as a permanent blue adhesive and dries to a clear, temporary adhesive. It has a chisel edge so I can use the skinny side for narrow areas, like the letters. Item #100425, $3.50 . . . worth having handy 🙂
Hugs . . . Mary
i want that alphabet so bad….but i’m having to be a good patient person…it’s SO cute!! love it all..great use of jumbo eyelets!!
Crazy, crazy cute!!
Lovely! Great job with the SC, too! It seems all my friends are expecting, too; Anne, my SIL, is too! So I’ll keep this card in mind! TFS!
Love the non-traditional baby colors.
Very cute and love the envelope lining.
I see you broke the stamping Top 50!! Way to go.
This is just SUPER CUTE!!! Love it!! BTW, the taffeta was threaded through the buttons!!
Great job with the sketch Mary! The punch outs behind the eyelets is a neat idea. I’ll have to file that one away.
I love the name Ava. So pretty!!!
Very cute! Love the colors!
Very nice Mary!! Fun colors, great card!! Hope you have a wonderful week!! Kelly
What a beautiful baby card! I like that you went for non-traditional colors. It looks really cute!
And I’m excited because I just ordered the Go Go Boots alphabet this weekend! It’s nice to see that it will fit on a cardfront. I have been wanting this alphabet ever since the Sizzix stuff came out and had to wait to order it because getting it with the machine would have been too expensive. Oh, and BTW, I also ordered the Punch Plus Brass template, and you are the one to blame for that purchase. ;P hehe! (Just kidding! I’m really good at talking myself into needing stuff…)
Cindy
Wow! I really like this card. Are those jumbo eyelets set inside a flower from the Boho Blossoms punch? Have you done a Crop a dile 101 yet?? That is the tool that gives me trouble. I can never remember the settings!
