Stampin’ Up! Flurries in a Hurry

Stampin up holiday treasures

199,742!  That's my visitor count as I post today.  You can count on a blog candy announcement as the 200,000th visit approaches!  Thank you so much for your wonderful comments and support of my Stampin' Pretty blog and Stampin' Up! business.

It's time for me to skidaddle on getting my Christmas cards rolling.  I have planned a blitz of holiday cards and ideas to share over the next week (and beyond–always with a chance of a few diversions).  Stay tuned.

Perfect for mass production–Stampin' Up!'s Rub-Ons (TIP:  Nov. 10-30, you can order SU's Rub-Ons on-line at 20% off with a $20 purchase) and felt snowflakes.  They helped today's card leap into my Stamping 911 category (cards you can make in 10 minutes or less).  Click here for more Stamping 911 ideas.

I layered Whisper White Little Felt Flurries (Item #113697, also includes Riding Hood Red and Baja Breeze) on 1 1/4" punches of Textured Riding Hood Red card stock, following by a Scallop Square of Baja Breeze.  TIP:  The top snowflake was calling for a tidtad of extra attention, so a Ruby Red Button and a sliver of Old Olive card stock (as thread) were added.

The 4.25 x 5.5 card base of Baja Breeze is topped with a delightful pattern from Stampin' Up!'s Holiday Treasures Designer Series paper (bottom) and Riding Hood Red Textured card stock at the top.  I layered a crisp, white Season of Cheer Rub-On (112843, includes one sheet each of Whisper White and Chocolate Chip) on the top corner.

Stampin up SC200
This quick and easy card was wrapped up with a luscious piece of Stampin' Up!'s 5/8" Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon.  TIP:  I used the rotary cutter from the Cutter Kit (Item #106958) to cut a small slice on the left side to neatly slip the ribbon through and wrap around the entire card front. The sketch was inspired by Splitcoast Sketch Challenge 200.

  3. Wonderful take on the SCS sketch! Loved how you varied the 3 squares because sometimes 3 in a row is a bit dry. Let the Holiday blitz begin! Thanks!

  12. Hello Mary,

Love the card and I just thought that I would let you know. Also, it looks like I was the 200,200 visitor to the site, that is awesome. I remember just months ago, when you had 100,000. I think that it was August 10th or thereabouts. Once again, congratualations.

  15. Mary,
This card is beautiful. I won this paper at convention and I have been hesitant to use it because I really don’t care for it. But this card has given me new inspiration! The white flurries look beautiful on the layers. Great layout. Thanks for all of your inspirations!

  18. Mary, this is so pretty. I love how you layer. I would love you to share some tips on how you decide to layer your tags and embellishments… when is too much and when too little? I always layer too little I think because I just don’t see the layers come together in my head. Love the snowflakes!!

    Hi Jennifer:

I experiment a bit to put together tags and embellishments. Sometimes I punch out a couple shapes and colors and combine until something says “come to momma!” You may end up with a few extra punches this way . . . but I keep them for future projects.

    I appreciate your comments. Big Hug . . . .M
