This is one of the punchiest cards ever! Six different Stampin' Up! punches! And, I adore the color combination . . . . Baja Breeze, Kraft and Real Red. Very jazzy.
My snowman evolved from Whisper White, punched with 1 3/4", 1 3/8" and 1" Circle Punches. I sponged the sides with a touch of Baja Breeze ink. His nose is a wee bit of Pumpkin Pie. I added Black Brads for his eyes (micro brads from www.justbrads.com) and Stampin' Up!'s Black Brads (a tad bigger) for the buttons (Vintage Collection). TIP: Only the center circle of my snowman is popped up on Stampin' Dimentionals, to give him a little girth.
A snippet of Real Red 1/4" Grosgrain becomes a dashing scarf to coordinate with this cool dude's Real Red hat (on Stampin' Dimensionals). I used a tiny piece of Basic Black for a scarf "buckle." TIP: Card stock for the hat was a scrap I previously had stamped in Real Red with Kindred Spirits but didn't end up using. With a 3/4" Square Punch, I snapped out his hat and layered a sliver for the brim.
Poetic Artistry's
The sentiment is from an incredibly versatile Hostess Level 1 stamp set, Best Yet. It's inked with Jet Black Stazon (very crisp) and stamped on Whisper White. I added some Baja and Real Red "dots," formed by a 1/4" Circle Punch. After sponging the sides in Baja Breeze, I adhered the white layer with dimensionals to Baja Breeze and Real Red.
TIP: A simple and very polished finish for your holiday cards is to add zip to the envelopes (Stampin' Up! Whisper White 5.5 x 5.5 envies used here). I blocked off the flap (simply sliding paper underneath and along the crease) and stamped the Real Red snowflake from Best Wishes and More.
Oh, and I decided to update my blog colors for the holidays. My banner tulip is sporting "Riding Hood Red!" Woo hoo 🙂
I love the punchy snowman! So cute! I have a weakness for snowmen since we don’t have “real” ones here! haha (no, sand doesn’t work to great!)
Oh, this is too cute, Mary! And that matching envelope is perfect for tying it all together!
Love your adorable punchy snowman! The colors on this card are beautiful. Thanks for playing! 🙂
I LOVE your snowman card! (I’m such a sucker for them.) I’m so amazed what a person can do with punches these days. Your DP is adorable too… I’ll be back to check your other posts!! Smiles? Michelle 🙂
Hey…this is a great card. You are so cool-showing all different ways to make cards (stamping, rub-ons, punches etc).
Mary..you rock!:)
… and beautifully done, such neat work! (Another quick post…) There is something I’ve wondered and have been wanting to ask: would you consider putting a link to your Splitcoaststampers gallery from your blog? Or maybe it’s here somewhere and I haven’t found it. Often when I’m here I get an urge to look at your gallery but don’t feel like going through the process to leave here and get there. Just a thought and of course entirely your call. Thanks for all you do! Love your site!
Hi Grace:
You are such a sweetie . . . I have a gallery on my left side bar which includes the pictures and details for all my posts. Have you seen it?
Hugs,
M

one thing i really liked about this card (among MANY!!!) is the way you sponged the edges of the sentiment with baja BEFORE layering it on baja and real red. love the double emphasis of this – i am a detail person and have learned sooooo much from your cards…like this little adorable detail. NOW to remember to use it!! (teehee).
hugs and blessings, jo ann.
