Stampin’ Up!’s Birthday Sale Ends Oct. 31

Stampin up sweet always party hearty

Don’t miss out on the last days of Stampin’ Up!’s 20% off birthday sale on selected sets.  Click here for full details.  I used one of my favorite sale sets today, Party Hearty (but it’s a close race in my heart with Crazy for Cupcakes, also on sale).  Combined with three patterns from Sweet Always Designer Paper, it will be a zippy surprise for my thirty something niece’s birthday.

The party hats were inked individually with Stampin’ Up! Markers in Chocolate Chip, Regal Rose and Pumpkin Pie and stamped on Whisper White.  I added a little dry embossing (I’m hooked) with Stampin’ Up!’s Classy Brass Dots Template.  Sweet.  The hat panel is layered on Regal Rose and Chocolate Chip card stock.

This snazzy layout is from Splitcoast’s Sketch Challenge SC199.  TIP:  All Splitcoast Daily Challenges are listed on my left side bar. It’s a wonderful starting point.

SC198 - 1
I used the landscape version, choosing delightful patterns from Stampin’ Up!’s Sweet Always Designer Series Paper for the panels and background.  I love how such diverse colors merge together.  The Whisper White card base is 4.25 x 5.5.

The single word sentiment (Splitcoast Ways to Use Challenge, WT189) is a quick and crisp rub-on from Chit Chat Rub-Ons (very versatile, with plenty of options for most occasions).  TIP:  Save 20% beginning November 10 on all Stampin’ Up!’s Rub-Ons (with a minimum purchase of $20).  Watch for details.

The rub-on was layered on Chocolate Chip card stock, shaped on one end with a Corner Rounder Punch.  The Pumpkin Pie button is from the Earth Elements button collection.  I threaded a skinny tidbit of Pink Pirouette card stock through the button and tied.  TIP:  My friend Renate suggested getting the “thread” slightly damp (dare I say she recommended a bit of spit) to make it a more pliable for tying.  Thanks, Renate!  It helped.

I wrapped a marvelous slip of Regal Rose 5/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon around the left panel.  TIP:  Perfectly coordinating accessories like the button and ribbon make Signature

Party hearty

  3. Mary, this card is absolute PERFECTION, girl!!! Love the papers you’ve chosen, and the fun little sentiment strip with the button! Awesome, as always!!!

  4. Very cute card! Love the colors and the papers. I bought this set and can’t wait to use it. Thanks for the sample.

  5. Let’s party! Those birthday hats are adorable! Cute stamping and great color combo Mary. TGIF!!!

  6. Love the card. Try using a Kaleidacolor pad with the little hats. Don’t push the little pads together – leave them as they are when you open the pad. It’s perfectly spaced so that you get five different colors. Very cute!
