Stampin’ Up! Wonderful You In Blue

Stampin up wonderful you beate

Bic29-potterybarnseagrasssleighbed
I whipped this card up for Beate's Inspiration Challenge (pictured).  My primarily influences were the colors and the crisp, white background of the walls and bedspread.

Using my Stampin' Up! markers, I colored directly on the Wonderful You outline flower stamp, Old Olive (stem) and Brocade Blue (flower).  The solid flower was inked using markers, too–Old Olive for the stem, Brocade Blue and Bordering Blue for the flower images. TIP:  Stampin' Up!'s Markers and marvelous for creating two color stamps.

TIP:  To layer the solid flower on the outline, I used a Stamp-a-ma-jig (tutorial here).  However, this set is purposely designed to not line up perfectly in an effort to achieve a watercolor effect.

The flower layer (Whisper White card stock) was matted on Brocade Blue and Old Olive card stock.  I zipped some Whisper White through my Big Shot with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Embossing Folder and added a snippet of Old Olive 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon using the Stay Put Bow method.  The 4.25 x 5.5 card base is Bordering Blue.

The sentiment is from Sweet Serendipity (recently added to my Stampin' Up! goodies).  I stamped it in both Brocade Blue and Old Olive.  TIP:  For a little diversion, I punched out the Brocade Blue version on an angle using a 1 1/4" Square Punch.   An Old Olive Scallop Square is tucked behind.  I snipped out "laughter" from the Old Olive version and added it to the blue with Stampin' Dimensionals. TIP:  I like my sentiments to jump out.  The entire sentiment is adhered to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals, too.

The PERFECT TOUCH?  Add some yummy Robin's Nest Dew Drops to the flower centers and sentiments to add just the right pizzazz.
