Stampin’ Up! Happy

Stampin up school book serif happy

Here's an snappy "happy" card for a masculine birthday.  Bold colors (Kiwi Kiss, Tangerine Tango, Chocolate Chip–all from this weeks' Splitcoast Color Challenge) and a crisp design are the key.  To see more masculine card ideas, please click to see my category "You've Got Male."

The Textured Kiwi Kiss card base is 4.25 x 5.5, scored at the top.  TIP:  Instant stripes can be created from your scraps in a flash.  I layered strips of Tangerine Tango and Chocolate Chip on top (even layered a skinny strip of Tangerine on Chocolate).

Using my favorite SU alphabet set, Schoolbook Serif, and a Stamp-a-ma-jig (Stamp-a-ma-jig tutoral here), I lined up the letters for "happy" (Tangerine Tango ink on Tangerine Tango card stock).  Three pewter brads tidy up the bottom left corner.

The sentiment from Full of Life seems like a custom fit with the "happy" theme in the large banner.  I stamped it in Chocolate Chip on Whisper White.  I inked up just the "happy" in the text a second time (Chocolate Chip), stamped it on Tangerine Tango, snipped and adhered it for a dash of contrast.  The corners are clipped with a Ticket Corner Punch and the sentiment is attached with Stampin' Dimensionals on Kiwi Kiss (also dolled up with a Ticket Corner Punch).

  5. Mary,

Beautiful card! Great idea to use the thin scraps as “ribbon”. I love the simplicity of the card.
