To show off the versatility of the sentiments of Stampin' Up!'s Best Yet stamp set (Hostess Level 1), I pulled out my Punch Bunch and whittled ideas to share for gift cards, gifts, tags or full sized cards in a flash.
My gift card shows how easily you can add depth to a card by layering a sentiment over an image. I layered the Chocolate Chip sentiment over a Creamy Caramel flower stamp from Organic Grace (also a Hostess Level 1 stamp set). I used a Stamp-a-ma-jig for perfect placement.
The image is punched out with a 1 3/8" Circle Punch and adhered to a Kiwi Kiss Scalloped Circle Punch. The final sentiment is attached with Stampin' Dimensionals to a 2 x 3 card base in Very Vanilla Textured card stock with a layer of Ski Slope Designer Series Paper on top. This little card fits beautifully in the sweet scalloped envelope, created in a snap with a Big Shot Die Cutting Machine, the Bigz Scallop Envelope Die and Kiwi Kiss Textured card stock. Chocolate Chip Taffeta (divine to work with 🙂 wraps things up.
Another Best Yet stamp gets some action in Basic Black on Pink Pirouette card stock. The Key Tag Punch gives it a new figure and the Boho Flowers Punch (Basic Black and Pink Pirouette) are a delightful accent. The final jazz, is a Rhinestone Circle Brad from my Pretties Kit. Very "oo la la!"
For the holidays, I added the Best Yet Christmas sentiment in Riding Hood Red ink on Whisper White card stock. It's given new life with Stampin' Up!'s Small Tag Punch and the coordinated Tag Punch (larger) in Riding Hood Red card stock. I grabbed a quick snowflake (Basic Black) from Season of Friendship stamp set (New Holiday Mini!!–see right side bar to download). It's stamped on Baja Breeze and popped out with a 3/4" Circle Punch. A stick-on pearl (not SU) adds some glam and the image is attached with a Stampin' Dimensional.
I stamped this sentiment in Pacific Point Ink on Whisper White card stock. The 1 1/4" Square Punch looks charming on the new Scallop Square Punch (Pacific Point) TIP: To add just a touch of oomph, three deep blue Micro Brads (www.justbrads.com) stepped in line with the assistance of a Mat Pack Template and Paper Piercer.
This one is my favorite but literally fell together by accident as some of my punches were sitting in a pile waiting patiently for a final destination. Go figure. I stamped the "because" sentiment in Chocolate Chip on Very Vanilla card stock. It's punched with the Oval Punch and layered on Tangerine Tango shaped with Stampin' Up!'s new Wide Oval Punch. TIP: Don't be afraid to layer punches or sentiments off center . . . some amazing things can happen. A 1/2" Circle Punch is centered with a Stampin' Dimensional on a Five Petal Punch in Chocolate Chip.
Finally, I did a little two tone version of this sentiment by stamping it first in Basic Black on Whisper White card stock and again in Kiwi Kiss. I extracted "BEST" from the Kiwi version and layered it with a sliver of Stampin' Dimensional. TIP: Don't toss the edges of the Stampin' Dimensional sheets. I use every bit since they can be customized with scissors to fit any object. The new Curly Label Punch creates a Kiwi Kiss background. I stamped the leaf pattern from Season of Friendship (Holiday Mini) in Basic Black on Kiwi Kiss card stock. It quickly becomes a new element when cropped with a 3/4" Circle Punch.
Whew! My Sentiments Exactly 🙂

Oh what a nice change-up! You have given some really great examples of how to use these sets and wonderful tips along with them. Your favorite is my fav, too. A bit surprising as I’m a line it up, nice edges kind of girl, but the flower and smaller oval really work well together. I like the idea of using the punches…so quick and easy. Thanks for all the time posting these!
Mary – these are beautiful!!! I really love stopping by and seeing what else you came up with!!!
Cute tags Mary! They are all beautiful.
Gorgeous tags, Mary! I love them all and the color combos you used rock. Now, I have to have a show just so I can get the Best Yet set as I love that one.
But what to my wondering eyes did appear, but cute little note cards that I find so dear. Awesome! You did it again.
