Stampin up punches three navy

Stampin' Up!'s Starter Kit Promotions end October 11.  Whether you want to earn some extra cash for the holidays or would enjoy Stampin' Up! products at a discount (my virtual group welcomes hobby demos), there's never been a better time.  There's no obligation to sell or commitment required ever!  Wouldn't you love getting advance notice of new Stampin' Up! products and be able to pre-order (before the customer order period) at a savings?  Please click here for more details or email me your questions.

Stampin' Up!'s new Wide Oval Punch is today's Cool Tool.  It coordinates beautifully with Only Ovals (see below) and the stamp set used for today's card, Punches Three (Stampin' Rewards Level 1).  It's an excellent addition to the Stampin' Up! Punch Bunch for layering sentiments (click for layered sentiment sample) and much more.

My nephew and his wife just announced their first pregnancy so it was time to make them a special card. I stamped the "bundle" twice on Whisper White–first in Night of Navy (to show off the polka dots against the white) and second in So Saffron. TIP:  I tend to shy away from pastels so this color combination appeals to me as a crisp, modern baby alternative.  I cut out the saffron sentiment and layered it with Stampin' Dimensionals on the navy version.

The horizontal panel layers More Mustard and So Saffron Textured Card Stock and is trimmed with Night of Navy 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon.  TIP:  When creating a clean look, I think texture rules.  Stampin' Up!'s Textured card stock gives such a rich and polished look.  Reminds me of fine stationery.

The background is the product of my Swiss Dots Cuttlebug Embossing Folder (using the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine) and Whisper White card stock.  TIP:  There's something captivating about the appearance of embossed whites.  A star punch added just a touch of fun in saffron, navy and mustard (textured) and mirrors the stars in the sentiment.

Finally, the 4.25 x 5.5 card base is So Saffron, topped with Night of Navy card stock.  TIP:  I paper pierced the Night of Navy layer using the Paper Piercer and Template from Stampin' Up!'s Crafter's Tool Kit.

  6. Beautiful card, Mary. Like you, I tend to shy away from pastels and go for bolder colors – especially if it’s a baby themed cards. Love the combo of Night of Navy & So Saffron. Where do you get the inspiration for your color combos?
