Every year my father-in-law brings us a big bag of apples, fresh from the orchard. It's that time of year and this card is a thank you for him and a nice twist on the Tart and Tangy set. TIP: Embossing gives this stamp another dimension (and would do the same for the 3 other fruits in the set–see full set below).
I dipped each apple in Versamark, stamped on Chocolate Chip card stock and heat embossed with Gold Embossing Powder. TIP: At first it looks like the gold is not going to show up against the dark brown. However, once heat is applied, it lightens and brightens. Cool.
I popped out each Chocolate square with a 1 1/4" Square Punch and layered on a coordinating 1 3/8" Square, punched from More Mustard card stock. The three apples were then layered on Really Rust and Chocolate Chip mats.
The background layout (based on today's Splitcoast Stampers Sketch Challenge) is delicious on it's own. TIP: All Splitcoast Daily challenges are available on my right side bar. It's such a valuable starting place. I used one of my favorite patterns from Autumn Vine Designer Series Paper, available October 1 in the Stampin' Up! Holiday Mini Catalog. Need a catalog or the holiday mini? Click here for details.
I layered each paper in sections, according to the Sketch Challenge, including Autumn Vine DP, Really Rust and More Mustard Textured card stock. All sections were layered on Chocolate Chip card stock and a 4.25 x 5.5 Really Rust card base.
The "Kind Thanks" sentiment is heat embossed in gold on Chocolate Chip card stock. TIP: Stampin' Up!'s Thank You Kindly stamp set offers 4 great ways to say "thank you" for $13.95 (below). I added some gold micro brads (www.justbrads.com) as a complimentary accent. The sentiment gets a little "heightening" (any Seinfeld fans?) with Stampin' Dimensionals
P.S. Stampin' Up! just gave the go ahead to include catalog images in my blog posts. Do you find it helpful? Please leave me a comment! TIP: Click to enlarge them.
Off to make apple crisp. Hugs and Pretties . . . Mary

Golden delicious INDEED!!!! Gorgeous card, love the colors and the gold embossed apples!
I love this! So different from the cards you usually see with this set.
Another beauty!! I am so happy this set made it into the catty!!
Your card is sweet! I think it’s great that you can include the catalog images. It makes it so much easier to decide it you want to order an item or not. Every little bit of info helps. Keep up the good work Mary! I share your blog with all of my friends.
Love the golden apple card and a big yes to including the “images.”
Mary, this is beautiful! Love the golden apples on brown!!
I, for one, appreciate seeing the images so I know which stamps are included in the set you are using!
Blessings, Maria
Very elegant card, Mary. I’m really getting to love embossing (Upsy Daisy has been fantastic), and your golden apples are so pretty! I also really, really like that you are able to include the entire SU catalogue image. TFS!!!
This is gorgeous – love the golden apples.
oh….i love these apples!! i love fresh bushels of apples..eat some for me!!
I really like that you can include the catalog images. It’s a great way to know what other stamps are included in the set. LOVE your work, by the way. Absolutely beautiful! You’re definitely one of my favorite blogs!!!
Gorgeous Mary! Great job embossing. It looks so classy!
Mary, I just LOVE this!!! Yet another use for Tart & Tangy!!! The colors are perfect too. Such a different look for this stamp. You’re the bomb, Mary!
This is a very “delicious” card Mary! I love the colors together 🙂
I love love love this idea of taking what it usually a summer set and turning it into a year round!!!!! Even though I don’t often comment, I love your blog! Thanks for all your great inspiration.
The images are great because sometimes you think you recognize a stamp but maybe not the name. Great idea and your card is beautiful as always. Love your blog!
Yummy Yummy Mary!!! The apple embossed looks so good!!
God bless
Giovana
What a great twist by using the embossing powder. It never even occurred to me that it could be so beautiful. Great idea!
Very Pretty card. Never thought to emboss with this set. Thanks for the inspiration as always
Mary—Thanks so much for the great idea that you had to make this set into a “Fall set” by embossing! It looks really nice. I had mentally “put that set up for next summer”~now I’ll have to pull it back out!
What a fantastic idea! I have to say that I hadn’t thought outside the box at all! Apples were red and although it’s a fall fruit, I was thinking of summer and summer colors all along. TFS! Jeanne
Very elegant! Another good man card to add to the list. I’m so impressed with how you change up techniques and think outside the lines. You have a wonderful way of giving us new vision for a familiar product. PS–I like the images, too.
hi Mary! love your card – embossing powder seems like the last thing i pull out as it’s so messy. it really changes the look of this stamp.
i LOVE that SU is allowing you to post pics of their product. when i’m not familiar with the set, i find it truly helpful. TFS
Now I’m thinking I might need Tart and Tangy after all…those golden apples have made it rather tempting! Gorgeous card!
Another stunner, my friend! You managed to make a “cute” set look so incredibly elegant! Love the gold embossed apples and your choice of papers!
Beautiful!!! The apples would be so appropriate for my neck of the woods. DH and I are going apple picking this weekend so seeing this card makes me even more excited to go picking this weekend. I love that SU! is allowing you to post the stamp images in your posts now. Saves me from having to go to the index in my catty and look it up.
WOW mary I love this, Golden Apples, love it!!!

I love it, it’s very different and clever to use the gold EP instead of ink like we’ve seen this set done in! Great job!
LOVE the gold apples! It makes me think about the brass apple I have at school that a former student gave me years ago. I also have a brass bell with an apple on top.
I like seeing the image of the entire set that you’re using! I’m glad SU is allowing that now!
