Sneak Peek: A Happy Heart

Stampin up happy heart saffron

One-step Stampin' Up! ordering has arrived and Stampin' Up!'s new on-line store is available by clicking here (or my order button on my right side bar gets you there, too.) Guess what's really cool?  You can look up products and information in a flash.  You'll love the organization, suggested ideas and the ability to place your order easier than ever.  Check it out and play around!  Look for "SHOP NOW" when you reach my Stampin' Up! site.  I'll be here to help you by email or my Live Help button ("Live Help" is in my top left corner).  Isn't that easy!

I still have my Holiday Mini "mojo" going . . . today's post features the new set A Happy Heart, a cute little valentine set that sends a little love on any occasion.  My sketch is from this week's Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge.  I chose it because I could show off two stamps from this set on one card!

The dandelion image emits tiny little hearts . . . how charming!  I inked it in Versamark, stamped it on Basic Gray and heat embossed in white.  It's layered on a piece of So Saffron card stock.  A clear square button adorns the side with a So Saffron flower (Trio Flower Punch) and a Basic Gray 1/4" Circle center on top.  TIP:  Layering on buttons gives them a whole new meaning and more possibilities!   A couple of adhesive pearls jazz up the center of both the button flower and the dandelion.

Parisian Summer Designer Paper creates a beautiful background (both patterns).  The top layer is matted on So Saffron card stock.  I popped out the sentiment (also from A Happy Heart, Basic Gray Ink on Whisper White) with a Nestabilities oval. The image was stamped again in Versamark on Basic Gray, heat embossed in white and cropped with a 1/2" Circle Punch.  TIP:  I next layered the embossed heart on the sentiment with a Stampin' Dimensional.

The finished sentiment is layered on an oval of Basic Gray and adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals over Basic Gray Taffeta Ribbon (my favorite for an easy knot).  The card base is 5.5 x 4.25 in Whisper White.

Hugs and Pretties . . . . Mary

  1. Mary,
I have to stop lurking and step in to say how much I love your new site! I just became a SU demo as a hobby a few weeks ago and am discovering the beauty and fun of stamps and cards after several years as a scrapbooker. I found your link on SCS. Your work has been an inspiration. I don’t know how you come up with these wonderful ideas everyday but I look forward to seeing more!!

  2. Seriously, Mary, your work just becomes more beautiful with each day’s designs. I wish I had the talent to just sit down and think of a card design. I seem to case most of what I do…..with little changes here and there, but I’m not an innovator like you are. Just lovely work!

  3. Wow – This card is stunning. I would never in a million years think of matching a grey with a “yellow” – it’s fantastic. You are such an inspiration.

  4. Oh Mary, and there I thought I didn’t need that set! BEAUTIFUL card. Love the color combo, layout and everything else.
    Hugs and smiles

  5. The Happy Heart stamp set is the most beautiful ever!! I must have missed it in the catalog! Where can I buy this set? Beautiful…just beautiful!

  6. What an amazing card. The color combo is fabulous. I might have to give it a try. The square button is a fun idea.

  7. The button adds the perfect finishing touch – it was the first thing that caught my eye. The papers you used are gorgeous too! TFS!

  8. Love what you’ve done with this card, Mary!
I’m in sunny Honolulu this week, but can’t wait to catch up on everything once I’m back – a week’s worth of your creativity sounds like a great way to cure a Tuesday back at work!

  9. Hey Mary, I love the card. It is beautiful. I love the colors you used. I also love the square button. Is this a set I need now??? LOL Good job.

  10. Wonderful! Inventive color combo, luscious ribbon and such great use of the flower/heart stamp image. Homerun!

  11. Another gorgeous design! Love the flower on the clear button, the pearl on the flower and how you did your sentiment at the top! Very lovely results 😀

  12. WOW– I LOVE your card — the colors are so very pretty — I also love the flower with the hearts flying off– sooo cute! 🙂

  13. This is simply gorgeous Mary…I’m with the other girls, loving that square button! I also like that the Valentine’s card not red. Just beautiful!

  14. Something for Valentine’s Day that’s not RED. I think that is perfect for Valentine’s Day. Can’t wait till that catalog arrives. At least I have the square buttons and cardstock.
