Going Green

Stampin up fun and fast notes

My Stampin' Up! Holiday Mini pre-order arrived today (expedited shipping is so fun when you are as passionate about new stamps as I am). Note:  the customer order period begins October 1.  I quickly mounted my 100% die cut stamps from the new mini catalog this evening and will be offering the first customer peeks of the new Halloween, Fall and Christmas stamp sets beginning this weekend.

Oh, and how about some hot, new holiday accessories including beautiful red and white stripe ribbon (reminds me of peppermint candy), sumptuous felt snowflakes and chocolate felt ribbon?  Got 'em!  And, as always, Stampin' Up! has delivered more gorgeous new designer paper.  I couldn't resist.

Today's card plays by the rules of the Splitcoast Monochromatic Color Challenge CC182 (all challenges are listed on my right side bar).  Looks like I picked green :)  I began with an Always Artichoke Textured card base (5.5 x 4.25), and shaped one corner with a Corner Rounder Punch.  TIP:  Be sure to do both front and back corners.

The Haiku Designer Series paper gives some jazz to the back panel, along with some Textured Whisper White card stock.  Using Stampin' Up!'s new Scallop Edge Punch (Tutorial Here), I livened up the edge and paper pierced each scallop. TIP:  A strip of Always Artichoke 1/4" Grosgrain  softens the transition from the Haiku paper to White.

The adorable tea cup (Fun and Fast Notes, on "loan" from Kris at Kween Bee Kreations) was stamped in Versamark and heat embossed in White.  I love how crisp white embossing looks against a darker card stock (Always Artichoke, here).  The main image is matted on Whisper White and Old Olive.  My Signo White Gel Pen delivers a lovely dotted accent around the border.

Using the triple flower stamp from One of a Kind, I stamped Whisper White card stock in Old Olive ink several times and popped out the flowers with the coordinating Boho Blossoms Punch.  TIP:  To add a little vitality to the line of flowers, I used a Stampin' Dimensional under every other blossom.  Dimensionals were also used under large Boho flower (corner of main image) and to raise and attach the central square to the bottom layer of Always Artichoke.

The "friend" sentiment was inked in Versamark and heat embossed in white to coordinate with the main image  TIP:  The Fundamental Phrases stamp set is my "little black dress" of sentiments–24 stamps and the great proportion for many HodgePodge labels, like this one in Styled Silver.  A couple Always Artichoke brads anchor the sides.

STAY TUNED for sneak peeks of the Holiday Mini and more Stampin' Up! Fall/Winter product samples!

Hugs and Pretties . . . . Mary
