Wonderful Itty Bitty Backgrounds

Stampin up wonderful saffron
Want an inexpensive way to create a quick, custom colored background?  Stampin' Up!'s Bitty Backgrounds ($12.95 for four stamps) are such a simple and delightful way to create painterly effects in a flash.

I stamped the two step stem from Stampin' Up!'s Wonderful You on Whisper White, first in Soft Saffron (solid image) and second in Basic Gray (line image).  The image was popped out with a 1 1/4" square punch and layered on So Saffron 1 3/8" squares.  TIP:  Having both the square punches makes precise layers for this look in seconds.  The squares were adhered and matted on a single piece of Basic Gray card stock.

My Stems and Silhouettes Jumbo Wheel was rolled in Basic Gray ink and took a ride across So Saffron card stock.  I then matted it on Basic Gray, and added some luscious Basic Gray Taffeta Ribbon (using the Stay Put Bow Method here).  I then stamped "wonderful you" (inked in Basic Gray) on Whisper White and cut it to fit below the label holder.  TIP:  I always align and attach the sentiment with Stampin' Dimensionals first, before adding the Hodgepodge Hardware Label Holder and Brads.  Much easier to line up.

Today's BRIGHT IDEA is showcasing the ease of using Itty Bitty Backgrounds.  The largest "grain" was inked in So Saffron and stamped on a card base of Whisper White (5.5 x 5.25, scored at the top).  Next, the finest "grain" was inked in Basic Gray and layered on top.  WOW in an itty bitty amount of time.  TIP:  For another look, just do the edges of an image with the "bitties," much like you would use a sponge.  It's a classy change-up.
