Giant Stamping Day

Stamping_giants
Nope.  I didn’t watch even one minute of the Superbowl . . . not even the commercials, not even Jordan Sparks singing the National Anthem, not even the re-hash of the game and commercials on the news this a.m.  Instead, I stamped.  However, as a quasi tribute to the Giants  (guess I picked the right team), I created this card in Giants blue and white (OK, Very Vanilla . . . but close counts in stamping, perhaps not in football).

The Giants’ colors were actually intentional and part of this week’s Splitcoast Limited Supplies Challenge LSC153.  And if I really want to push the envelope of the Superbowl theme, the sentiment is shaped like a football (a stretch, yes, but again, close counts in stamping).  This is a double challenge since I tried my first Featured Stamper’s challenge based on this card designed by Renee Van Stralen.  The card is also dedicated to Joan B and her mom, a couple of extraordinary Giants’ fans 🙂

A Giants’ blue card base (Brilliant Blue) "kicks off" this project.  I then stamped Time Well Spent flowers in Whisper White craft ink on Giants’ blue card stock.  Some blue sponging and paper piercing "spiked" up the edges of Very Vanilla and made for a nice playing field.  The main flower is white stamped on blue with a few baubles from Stampin’ Up!’s Bead Duos.  The center flower is the real "kicker" stamped on Very Vanilla, snapped out and doing the Lambeau Leap on a dimensional.  The leaves are stamped in white on Brilliant Blue Designer Paper and come to life with a little "clipping."

The flower and leaves were attached to Very Vanilla card stock with a pair of flowers in the end zone (also from Time Well Spent).  I then sponged the edges of the vanilla and adhered everything to blue, also piercing around the edges.  Some Very Vanilla ribbon won the toss and got a chance to get in the game.

The final touch ("down") is the sentiment which is simply white, stamped on blue and popped out with a "completed pass" of the small oval punch.  I then adhered it with a few dimensionals to vanilla card stock, created from the large oval punch (also sponged in blue).  Game Over.

Hugs and Pretties . . . . M
