Birthday Wishes and Kisses

Stamping_butterflies_2_2
My husband’s grandmother turns 99 next week.  She’s offers quite a spunky personality and definitely has her wits about her.  Other than the fact that she seems to shrink half an inch each time we see her, I am confident she will make 100 (although she will be quite small by then).  I’m hoping this card will give her an early touch of spring and special birthday wish.

This project took much longer on the "drafting table" than it did to execute.  I finally resolved to round the corners of some Barely Banana and Blue Bayou and attached it to a Whisper White base.  I next stamped the circle swirl design like mad on yellow card stock matted on green (I love this little guy).  The Wild Wasabi Double Stitched Ribbon was the perfect touch to kick off a "stitched" theme.

"Birthday Wishes" is curved (a lovely advantage of acrylic stamps), stamped and grouped with a few more butterfly chums.  To finish off, I added an oval boarder and chomped it with an oval punch.  My punches got busy and turned card stock into flowers, which were dolled up with white gel pen "stitching" and some punched centers and stick-on rhinestones.   The butterfly is stamped in Blue Bayou with Wild Wasabi spots, added courtesy of my blender pen.  The body is a quick punch with the horizontal slot in Wasabi and attached with a dimensional (cut long and skinny).  The wings float freely and actually flap in the breeze (OK, maybe that last part is a teensy exaggeration).
